• Keep - Mayhap I should have added more context in the description of the photo to justify the use in the article. When Action Park, and the rest of the Vernon Valley-Great Gorge resort - was taken over by Intrawest, one goal they had was to make the park safer, and to shake off the image that had been created over the past 20 years. The photo in dispute here shows renovations being conducted on what was arguably one of Action Park's most lawless, and dangerous attractions, the Tidal Wave Pool. 100 people rescued the day the wave pool opened in 1983, according to Andrew Mulvihill, son of Action Park founder Eugene Mulvihill, several drownings, strong rip currents that, combined with the high, and powerful waves, even put lifeguards at risk, just to name a few aspects that contributed to its infamy. After these renovations, the wave pool would be shallower, and the wave generation system changed to a system that would not create the huge waves, rip currents, and would have a decent cooldown time between wave generation periods. Given that, I feel this photo provides more than a view that "simply show(s) some earthmoving/construction work," but instead helps to illustrate the radical transformations that went on with the Action Park property after Intrawest took over in 1998.Travelsonic (talk) 13:13, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
• Delete. Although this image does illustrate the subject of extensive nature of the the wavepool's reconstruction, it's so complete a reconstruction that the image is not really recognizeable as the wavepool, nor are the operations we can see being performed obviously relevant to its safety (the key reason for it being done). "Looks like just some construction site". None of the original dangerous aspects are visible. Simply stating in text that it was "nearly completely replaced", or "substantially overhauled", would probably suffice. Of encyclopediac value would be a "before" image if it emphasized any of the dangerous details, or before+after side-by-side to illustrate very clearly the nature of the changes. - I'm not sure I'm following you on the recognizability due to the extensive nature of the reconstruction bit, and the relevance or lack thereof in the photo, but then again, maybe I am just derping from my usual sleep deprivation. I mean, it seems what the ride would later look like ultimately would be irrelevant, I mean here you see elements from both wave pool versions (though that assumes there weren't more transitional versions in between the 1998 - 1999/2000 period) - the waterfall facade from the redesigned pool, the building at the end with the Action Park logo (the building of which would merely be renovated, versus torn down completely, if I recall correctly) - but please, guide me where I may be missing what you are saying.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Travelsonic (talk • contribs) 22:47, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
