Can't be both licenses, Choose one. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:16, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Is that brown corner effect because the paper was folded during the photographing? In that case, one may want to add a ((self)) license on top of the correct ((PD-1923-abroad)) (the copyright notice says the work is from 1915, which I am inclined to take as the publication year when it's part of a copyright notice) as a safety measure.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 08:46, 25 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- ((Self|PD-US-1923-abroad)) suggests to me that the uploader himself published the paper before 1923. This sounds wrong to me.
- I wouldn't drop any copyright tags as the picture might be copyrighted as a photographic image in some countries. --Stefan2 (talk) 22:48, 30 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Can't be both licenses, Choose one. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:17, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- It can be both licenses, when more than one copyright is involved - the publication's copyright and the photographer's. In this case,
((photo of art|((self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-3.0|migration=redundant))||
((PD-US-1923-abroad|pdsource=yes))((PD-UK|local))|pdsource=yes))
considering that the image was apparently published in 1922 (see [1]). Assuming that the music sheet was indeed anonymous, that is. A ((PD-Art)) template can also work but including a free license by the photographer is safer for reusers.Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 08:34, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned image; doesn't appear to be useful. No articles on these subjects. No source or even year of creation, so licensing is questionable as well. ~ RobTalk 19:30, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I recommend that the file be retained, DO NOT DELETE, possibly move to Wikimedia Commons. I will be happy to provide additional information if my initial upload of the file was incomplete in its information. I probably intended this file for the page on Edward William Cornelius Humphrey which was deleted after lengthy discussion. I still think the page should not have been deleted. Even if the intended page is not restored, there remain other people in Wikipedia who also lived in this house, and the image could be used on their pages. Thank you for calling this to my attention.Mitzi.humphrey (talk) 19:32, 25 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- @Mitzi.humphrey: At the very least, we need information on the source of this photograph. The claimed license is "life + 100", but this is not provable given no information on who the author is. ~ RobTalk 00:32, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I doubt that any living person knows who photographed this picture. It is obviously quite old (note the horse-drawn sleigh and the top hat). This file was captured by me from one that I have had in my ancestry files for years. I think it came to me via Ancestry.com from a cousin of my husband . . . I'm not sure which of us posted it first. Lewis Craig Humphrey or Edward Porter Humphrey or Eleanor Silliman Belknap Humphrey would probably know the answer if they were living. The Filson Historical Society in Louisville may be able to solve the mystery. I think the house shown in the file may have been one of the buildings donated as a site for either the Filson Club or the Pendennis Club.Mitzi.humphrey (talk) 15:29, 1 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- @Mitzi.humphrey: I see two arrow watermarks on the image, like you screenshotted it from a slide presentation. Where does the image actually come from? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 08:37, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Jo-Jo Eumerus and Rob, You are correct that I probably took this photo from a slide show of my own Picasa photo files or from other versions of photo software or other personal uses of the photo in my ancestry files. Judge Edward William Cornelius Humphrey (also known as E.W.C. Humphrey or "Alphabet" Humphrey) was the original destination article for which the image file was intended to be used. Since that article was deleted against my expressed wishes in the deletion discussion, I would like now to use it in the article Edward Porter Humphrey. E.W.C. Humphrey was the son and first child of the Rev. Dr. Edward Porter Humphrey, co-founder of Cave Hill Cemetery and his first wife Catherine Cornelia Prather Humphrey, who, along with her infant second child died in childbirth. They were ancestors of newspaper editor Lewis Craig Humphrey, whose wife was Eleanor Silliman Belknap Humphrey. There should be no objection to free use in the public domain of the image now. Mitzi.humphrey (talk) 17:25, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- It should also be noted that Edward William Cornelius Humphrey was the half-brother of Alexander Pope Humphrey.Mitzi.humphrey (talk) 17:42, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Do you know anything about how old the picture and the underlying plaque are, as well as publication dates for either? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 17:44, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Having read through all of this, I still think the licensing is strongly questionable. You state this is in the public domain, but we're just judging the year by the horses and top hats in the picture. Top hats were fashionable until the mid 20th century, well after 1916, which is the latest date this picture could have been taken for this license to be accurate. horse and buggies were in popular use until the 1920s, also after this date. We can't assume that 100 + life (or even the 1923 cutoff for PD in the United States) applies here without sourcing to that effect. ~ Rob13Talk 17:53, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- The photograph appears to have no underlying plaque, just an antique frame which probably had either a cardboard, wood, or paper backing and could have been added later. The dates of the couple who owned the house in the photograph were . . . Jessamine Barclay (sometimes spelled Barckly or Barkley): 1846-1905 and Edward William Cornelius Humphrey: 1844-1917.Mitzi.humphrey (talk) 17:57, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
