File:AMAA Who’s who in martial arts award plaque, 2018.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Australianblackbelt (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Photo of a 2018 award plaque, containing multiple copyrightable elements (eagle and flag artwork in particular). Though the uploader took the photo, the plaque itself should be assumed to be copyrighted. Wikiacc () 05:50, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Keep as non-free (as nominator), WP:NFCC all appear to be met. Wikiacc () 05:19, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Alien Hominid is not 70 years old and is under copyright Veverve (talk) 06:48, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Based on previous discussion on Wikipedia regarding software screenshots, it is my understanding that this qualifies as fair-use seeing as 1) Ruffle is open-source software and 2) The Flash version of Alien Hominid is free software.
  2. In response to the above comment, this is indeed my original work and was screenshot for a post I edited for a friend.
  3. I am prepared to demonstrate that I have Alien Hominid developer Tom Fulp's personal approval on behalf of The Behemoth, stating they see no conflict of interest, in the use of this file for this particular Wikipedia page, in any case.

Themadprogramer, so the flash version of Alien Hominid is freely licensed? Note that it has to be licensed freely, just because the game itself is free to use does not mean that there is no copyright. To clarify, I meant that it is doubtful that you were the copyright holder of Alien Hominid, not that you took the screesnhot. If you can get the developer to email permissions-en@wikimedia.org, than they can license this specific screenshot freely. This could be re-licensed as fair use, but I feel it would fail WP:NFCC#1 as you could therotically use a freely licensed Flash game to emulate instead. Dylsss, this is the first time I've run into something like this, so what exactly would the mail to permissions-en@wikimedia.org entail? A link to the image file or a reupload? A statement on "Yes you have my permission to fair use it?". I would appreciate it if you could refer me to a guide on what to do in this case. Themadprogramer, see Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries, there is more information at c:COM:OTRS as well. Permission isn't needed to use a work under the fair use doctrine, but it should be done in accordance with the policy at WP:NFC. Dylsss(talk contribs) 00:01, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:NFCC#8. Logo is not being used to identify the club as stated in the rationale, and while the logo is mentioned in the text, there's no actual discussion of the art. Ytoyoda (talk) 20:09, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
