Would someone please create an SVG file of the flag proposed for Minnesota in 1957 (designed by Joseph Nelson), as seen and described here. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 17:42, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@FOX 52: Brilliant job, thank you so much! Although is there any chance you could perhaps change the file's title to "Proposed flag of Minnesota (1957)"? It's just that the label of "North Star Flag" is more commonly associated with the very popular proposed Minnesotan flag designed by William Becker and Lee Herold in 1989 (both on Wikipedia and indeed everywhere else), hence it may create a bit of confusion for this file to have a similar title. Sorry about this. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 13:38, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@FOX 52: Hey, just thought I should let you know that I've now been able to make a renaming request on the File myself. Sorry about this. The only reason I asked you if you could do it is because when I tried to submit a renaming request the first few times, a notification about some kind of "Error" kept coming up. So I thought, since you're the File's uploader, you might have had better luck in getting the name changed. But now the Error issue (whatever it was) seems to have passed, so it's all good now. Sorry for the unnecessary waste of time. But anyhow, thanks again for creating this file, your help is always greatly appreciated. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 14:11, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Snow Lion Fenian: yeah sorry I've never renamed a file before - glad to see you got the ball rolling though- FOX 52talk! 15:46, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, apologies if this isn't the right place.
I'm looking to get a Sankey diagram to help explain the concept of radiative cooling. Especially for how yakhchāls used them, but more importantly, even the scientific article of radiative cooling doesn't have a visual of the concept. I found a non-free image that I think would be a good diagram to use, and was wondering if something similar could be made. The non-free image shows that there is an energy budget balance in play, and that there is therefore a net energy out of the pools which allow ice to form. This is what I would like to have as a diagram to follow along with the text in the article to help explain the concept. It should have the following arrows:
Input energy arrows:
Conduction from the ground
Thermal radiation reflected back
Output energy arrows:
Water evaporated
Thermal radiation emitted
From what I've read this could be in or out:
Convection from the air
In the Sankey diagram, the width of the thermal radiation out should be the largest to help explain the radiative cooling process. An idea of the widths can be gathered by the non-free diagram linked above.
Another thought is that I think it would be nice to be in same style as the current image used to describe the evaporative cooling process in these ancient structures, that way the colors and themes in the article are kept consistent. Thank you, Fephisto (talk) 15:25, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fephisto! I made two versions for the sankey daigram. Which one do you prefer? Did i miss anything? If it's ok I will upload the file on Commons MingoBerlingo (talk) 17:16, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @MingoBerlingo, that is awesome. Thanks so much. I think both are great, although I could see the scientists over on the radiative cooling page might appreciate a traditional Sankey diagram, so I'll elect the one on the right. Fephisto (talk) 17:25, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone please make an SVG of this logo--Trade (talk) 15:58, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom in Scotland
Article(s) United Kingdom Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom Request
Per the discussion located here. It would appear that our present version of the Royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom for use in Scotland may be inaccurate, and that the heraldic version of the Crown of Scotland is used in all four places (the head of both supporters, on the helmet, and on the crest). There are several images for reference in that discussion, but this one [1] is probably the best. If someone could make stylization like the ones produced for other coats of arms that would be amazing. Many thanks, Estar8806 (talk) 22:25, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can someone please create an SVG file of the flag proposed for Oregon in 2013 (designed by Matt Norquist and endorsed in the Oregon Senate by Laurie Monnes Anderson), as seen here. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 10:47, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone adjust the electric flashes and stars so that they match the ratio of positions as defined in law (see also https://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/us-nybff.html)? The circle of stars currently seem to have a diameter a bit too large (and thus are placed a bit too far away from the center point of the flag), and each individual electric flash appears to be slightly too wide. -- HapHaxion(talk / contribs) 15:56, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Commemorative flag of Utah (2021). Given how similar this flag is to the 2019 proposal, I've provided it here in case anyone wants to use it as a template from which to derive the new file in this request.
Would someone please create an SVG file of the flag proposed for Utah in 2019, as seen and described here. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 22:45, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering if someone could vectorize George V of Hanover and Marie of Romania's signatures, the files for which already exist. Thanks to anyone who might be willing to take on this request. Keivan.fTalk 17:55, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Request taken by Tipinen (talk) 18:18, 10 June 2023 (UTC).[reply]
@Tipinen: Just wanted to mention that I was about to list the signature of Elizabeth of York as well. You did the other two rather fast, and I initially did not find time to add it at the beginning. Nevertheless, I put up the file. If you are willing to give it a try I will be really glad. Keivan.fTalk 20:51, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please vectorize the flag with the inscription, this is the flag used at the Hazaras pickets. I am also asking for a version with the Persian alphabet, it will be this inscription (هزارستان). There is already a flag without text in .svg format. Swiãtopôłk (talk) 14:10, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Swiãtopôłk:Comment: Noticed that Hazaristan Flag.svg is just three raster images stacked on top of each other wrapped in an SVG, so I fixed it. Can't find a good font for the Persian text. Recommendations? --QuickQuokka[talk • contribs] 15:27, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@QuickQuokka: The Persian font can be any, there are plenty of non-standardized variants.[5][6][7][8] Only I would avoid Kufic, because it is associated with Iran. Swiãtopôłk (talk) 15:52, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please vectorize the flag used by "Hazarajat Freedom Movement" (link to their Facebook). Use a slightly darker blue, like in their emblem. Swiãtopôłk (talk) 14:10, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please make new file consisting of combining 2 existing flags in a similar way to file 1. Combine 2 and 3 where 2 is higher and both flags are the same length but the height is proportional. Upload the new file with a name "Common house flag of the Cunard-White Star Line". Shades of red should also be uniform, it doesn't matter which file is used as the basis. The reason for this request is that for several years there was a company that had capital capital of 2 previously independent shipowners and used both flags always in the same way. Please make propesed flag [11] for Afghanistan part of Khorasan. The proposal comes from a Kabul Press article. Link to the article in Dari, ATTENTION, in addition to the flag, a rather drastic photo was also published there. The author of the project was signed as Nadir Ghadr. Inscription is (خراسان نوین).
Will someone please create an SVG file of the burgee used by Restronguet Sailing Club, as seen here and here (the one in the middle), using the shell template provided above (albeit with the two unnecessary "bits" sticking out of the bottom-right and bottom-left removed). Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 22:08, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Snow Lion Fenian:Question: What license should I upload this under? Is it public domain? (I have already vectorized it but I only realized that I need the license now) --QuickQuokka[talk • contribs] 13:15, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@QuickQuokka: Thanks for taking this on. Well, if you made it using the above shell template, then I'd recommend uploading it under the "Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license" (which is the license given to most other SVG Cornish burgees that already exist on Wikimedia Commons), as long as there's an acknowledgment of the shell template in the "Summary" section of the new file. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 15:05, 12 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@QuickQuokka: Sorry about that. Well, I can't pretend to be an expert on CR. However, given my past experiences with these requests; As long as the new file is an adequate representation of the burgee without being an exact copy of it (which I'm sure would definitely be illegal here, hence why I provided a different shell template to use, as it's not even close to being identical to the shell from the first link), then I'd still recommend using the same license as most of the other Cornish burgees on WC (one example provided here, which also deliberately isn't a complete mirror image of the real-life burgee here.). Sorry I couldn't be of any more help to you. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 10:54, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@QuickQuokka: Great work, thanks! Although is there any chance you could add the surrounding white border around the blue field? Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 20:05, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can somebody vectorize this album cover? I think it would be better as an SVG, because it's simple geometric shapes and text.
I don't know how you would do the fractal or if recursion is possible in SVG files (if I had that kind of knowledge I would do it myself :P) --QuickQuokka[talk • contribs] 09:03, 10 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Niue adopted a new seal in September 2021, which currently does not exist on Commons in a high-quality (vector) form. Would someone be able to create one? The old one can be re-uploaded to a different filename, such as Public Seal of Niue (1974–2021).svg.-- HapHaxion(talk / contribs) 01:23, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can someone please create an SVG file of John Karp's proposed flag for Nevada from 2001 (which won flag redesign contests in both the Utne Reader and the Nevada Magazine), as seen here. And, even though the colours of that version seem accurate, I would recommend basing the size dimensions of the new file on the diagram seen in Issue #171 of NAVA News. If you go on this page here, scroll down to the "2001" section, and then click on the PDF link titled "vol. 34 no. 3 (July-Sept. 2001)", and then scroll down to Page 14, you can see the diagram in question. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 00:46, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Snow Lion Fenian Done Made it in 3:2 aspect ratio, which is the closest match to the version in the NAVA newsletter. Dragon401k (talk) 21:38, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like to help, but the file is already in svg format. Do you mean you want to change the lions on the flag using the ones on the flag of the signeur of sark? MingoBerlingo (talk) 07:34, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know the angle is not very ideal, but I was wondering if someone could make a vectorized file out of the portion of this image which depicts Empress Masako's signature. To be clear, the signature on the right is hers and the one on the left is her husband's, which is already shown in his article. Keivan.fTalk 20:04, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the double request here. Both the North Carolina Senate and House of Representatives have seals, but finding usable images has been quite hard to find. I did find these two images (1) (2) online but they are from a wood shop and have a wood texture to them. They are the actual seals per these two sources (1) (2). But, since they are both webp files, I was wondering if the texture could be changed to black and white? I think the HOR seal could be public domain since its a derivative of the state seal but I don't know about the Senate seal. If these two images can't be edited due to copyright and/or technology reasons, please ignore this request. But thank you for your time anyways and have a great day! -- DiscoA340 (talk) 22:40, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Will someone please create an SVG file of Esther Northrup's proposed flag for Kansas from 1916 (which was the winning design of a contest organised by the Daughters of the American Revolution to create a flag for the state), as seen here. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 15:46, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@FOX 52: Fantastic work, thanks! Although I notice that the main part of the sun on the seal is to the left of where it should be under the rays, likely due to a glitch. Any chance that could be fixed? Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 18:38, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
These graphics contain several small errors, either in preview (as shown in the file description page), in the full SVG or in the rendered PNG:
C26H Fog → C2H6 Fog
HO/NH23 → H2O/NH3 (2 occurrences)
CH4–N2 clouds → CH4–N2 clouds
Is there an SVG expert who can fix them? --Leyo 18:16, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
@Leyo Am I understanding correctly that, for example, "C2H6 Fog" is correct and "C26H Fog" is incorrect? If so, the files you posted all look correct to me, I don't see any of the incorrect versions on them. It's possible that your browser is rendering the text on these SVGs wrong for some reason, what browser/OS do you use? (For reference, these images load correctly for me on Firefox and Chrome on Mac OS Ventura). Dragon401k (talk) 03:10, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My Chrome browser, also, does not show any error. Maybe you (Leyo) could refresh while by-passing your cache memory. On a Mac, this is accomplished with Command-R. —RCraig09 (talk) 06:05, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dragon401k and RCraig09: Did you check the file description pages (File:Titan atmosphere detail.svg/File:Titan atmosphere detail de.svg)? The first two errors exist in all browsers I tested, i.e. seems to be browser-independent.
In addition, the typographically correct way to write the molecular formula of e.g. ethane is with subscript numbers (C2H6), not with small numbers (C2H6). That could also be improved in the graphics, if possible. --Leyo 08:25, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm seeing the error in some PNG renderings (example), though the two SVG file description pages are OK. You are correct, re subscript-versus-smalltext. Sorry, solving this puzzle is above my pay grade. —RCraig09 (talk) 13:46, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For me (Chrome for Mac), the big renderings (at the top of the file description pages File:Titan atmosphere detail.svg and File:Titan atmosphere detail de.svg) are correct. But the "Other resolutions:" examples are not even consistent with each other! Some are correct; some are wrong. It's a mystery to me. Sorry. —RCraig09 (talk) 16:25, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Converting the texts to paths would likely solve the issue. --Leyo 20:51, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
