Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible for us to add information to articles that relate to human rights abuses and illegal activities so that current victims can be directed to places where to find help.
Articles like
all relate to the topic of human rights abuses committed by certain factions within the US government. While these specific articles and activities happened some time ago, they relate directly to ongoing programs that continue to commit human rights abuses today. People involved in these programs or who are victims to it today might be interested in how to seek help about their struggles.
In general, I think there should be a means by which people can add edits to suggest people going through certain struggles to find help. Of course, we would have to keep in mind that there are certain actors out there who would edit the article and remove this advice to keep certain activities under wraps and out of the public eye. How could we prevent something like this from happening?
Thanks for your help!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gottliebisgross (talk • contribs)
Hi Folks!! I'm looking for help on reducing the width of a table at Wartime activity so it is roughly two-thirds the current width, or possibly less, 50%. I'm really looking to make the table a bit more chunky as currently it is taking up the full width of the screen and doesn't look right. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. scope_creepTalk 02:17, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

Dear Wikipedia, This is a request for edit to correct an omission I made in previous edit of this article. I’m not too good navigating around computers. And my apology for any confusion/inconvenience. Thank you. This edit source again is the official US Coast Guard Historian’s Office website page for the US Coast Guard Cutter Chase, and also in conjunction with the original Wikipedia article. Reference source below: Chase, 1968 (WHEC 718) > United States Coast Guard > All (uscg.mil). http:www.history.uscg.mil/Browse-by-Topic/Assets/Water/All/Article/2090238/chase-1968-whec-718/....
This correction is for the 3 and 4th paragraphs under the heading “Vietnam and the 1970s” in the USCGC Chase Wikipedia article. The Wikipedia article presently reads: “In 1973, as part of a Destroyer-Cruiser Flotilla, Chase participated in Operation Seaconex (COMCRUDESFLOT TWO). On this operation, Chase transited the Straits of Gibraltar, and visited Portugal and Morocco. Between the years of 1970 and 1974, Chase conducted three or four Search and Rescue cases daily while on various Ocean Station duties.
Between the years of 1974 to 1978, Chase continued to patrol the waters of the Atlantic, Caribbean and Mediterranean. Chase visited Guantanamo Cuba, Spain, Morocco, Ireland, France, England and Italy. In 1976, while on a cadet cruise, Chase rendezvoused with and came under the command of the aircraft carrier USS America and was involved in Operation Fluid Drive during the Lebanon Crisis of 1976 which ultimately resulted in the evacuation of nationals from the beach after the assassination of two U.S. officials in Beirut, Lebanon by the landing ship dock USS Spiegel Grove. In 1977 Chase was among the cutters assigned to protect a part of the U.S. exclusive economic zone (EEZ) created as a result of passage of the Magnuson-Stevens Fisheries Conservation and Management Act, protecting the area from Cape May, New Jersey to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina from foreign encroachment.[4] In 1980, Chase was back in the U.S., on scene at the America’s Cup in Newport, Rhode Island. In 1982, Chase participated in "Safe Pass 1982," a member of the Fleet Composite Operational Readiness Group.”
Again, with the Coast Guard History page as reference source,. Chase, 1968 (WHEC 718) > United States Coast Guard > All (uscg.mil). http:www.history.uscg.mil/Browse-by-Topic/Assets/Water/All/Article/2090238/chase-1968-whec-718/.... the 3rd and 4th paragraphs should read:
In 1973, Chase participated in Operation Seaconex, (COMCRUDESFLOT TWO), an exercise with a screen of seven destroyers and an amphibious assault ship, helicopter (LPH) carrying anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopters and Harrier vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) jets protecting a convoy from air, subsurface and surface threats. On this operation, Chase transited the Straits of Gibraltar and visited Portugal and Morocco. Between the years 1970 and 1974 Chase conducted three or four Search and Rescue cases daily while on various Ocean Station duties.
Between the years 1974 to 1978 Chase continued to patrol the waters of the Atlantic, Caribbean and Mediterranean. Chase visited Guantanamo Cuba Naval Base, Haiti, Spain, Morocco, France, England and Italy. In 1976 Chase was in the Mediterranean on a cadet cruise during the then on-going Lebanon Crisis which culminated in the U.S. naval evacuation of nationals from Beirut (Operation Fluid Drive), led by the attack aircraft carrier USS America after the assassination of two U.S. officials there. In 1977 Chase was among the cutters assigned to protect a part of the U.S. exclusive economic zone (EEZ) created as a result of passage of the Magnuson-Stevens Fisheries Conservation and Management Act, protecting the area from Cape May, New Jersey to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina from foreign encroachment. In 1980, Chase was back in the U.S., on scene at the America’s Cup in Newport, Rhode Island. In 1982, Chase participated in “Safe Pass 1982,” a member of the Fleet Composite Operational Group.'''
Again, thank you for this record correction edit.
