The result of the discussion was No consensus to delete. Note, no objections to someone merging these templates together in such a way that transclusions don't break when one if redirected to the other. — xaosflux Talk 03:02, 28 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is quite similar to ((User wikipedia/Administrator someday)), and I question whether we need a separate template just for the purpose of including a date. At the same time, I can't just replace one with the other: this one demands a date (see here for what it looks like if you don't supply one), and the other one doesn't accept it. If it's agreed that supporting a date parameter is important, we should just merge this function to the other one and ensure that the date bit is left out if no date is supplied; if it's not agreed to be important, we should just delete this. Good catch, I've transferred it thusly [1]. This should be closed as wrong venue. Legacypac (talk) 08:33, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... If this is a userbox, I think it belongs here, right? What about merging the two, so the parameter is optional, as suggested? Otherwise, I'd support userfication/migration if deletion doesn't happen, though I don't like the idea of a fork just for a date. —PC-XT+ 09:26, 18 February 2016 (UTC) 09:35, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I closed the TFD. Wikipedia:Userboxes are always discussed as MFD regardless of namespace. This was decided as part of the 2006 userbox wars around here. All discussion should continue here. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 20:39, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • SmokeyJoe, I'm not particularly opposed to a redirect; I prefer deletion, but redirecting solves the problem of having two almost-identical userboxes, especially as this one is almost entirely unused. Nyttend (talk) 15:10, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Followup: I merged them, and another similar template. There are others with similar language that can also be merged just by adding a parameter.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  21:31, 2 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
