Wikipedia:WikiProject assessment/A-Class criteria[edit]

Wikipedia:WikiProject assessment/A-Class criteria (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Moribund class. Used only by WikiProject Military history. Misleading as it is.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  11:44, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Point of order, WP:Chemistry have only five a-class articles; and more to the point, haven't used the procedure since 2009. >SerialNumber54129...speculates 12:13, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Keep, the class is used, and this describes what to do if projects want to use it. If projects don't want to use it, that's fine too. This is not a reason for deletion. And while WP:PHYS doesn't perform A-class assessments ourselves, we do recognize WP:CHEM/WP:MILHIST's A-Class reviews in the many areas where physics and chemistry/military history overlap.Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 12:16, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Point of oder-2: Shouldn't the MfD template on that page be surrounded by <noinclude>...</noinclude>? Now hundreds of pages in Category:WikiProject assessments appear as tagged for deletion. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:31, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Keep. In use by multiple projects including those mentioned above, WP:TROP, and WP:HWY (and its subprojects). See also previous discussion Wikipedia:Village_pump_(policy)/Archive_121#A-Class_article_assessment, which included the suggestion of making A-class a non-standard grade (like Bplus-class) - Evad37 [talk] 12:42, 13 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Keep as per Headbomb. Since it's being used, there's no real reason to delete it. If there is a strong demand to reconfigure WP:ASSESS to indicate that A-class is rarely used, or should not be considered a "standard" grade, that's a different discussion, and it would seem a lot more reasonable than complete deletion. We'd need to involve MILHIST in any discussion of that sort. FYI: I'm a (somewhat lapsed) member of WP:CHEM, and I can confirm that we haven't maintained the A-class articles as we should have, nor have we been able to support the kind of peer review we used to do in 2006-2008. Yeah I guess it isn't really used, however that's obviously isn't a criteria for deletion. Galobtter (pingó mió) 07:09, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
