I'm interested in studying population dynamics. How a new mutation (e.g., a mutation that facilitates human language) spreads through a population. The wikipedia article Population dynamics is a good introduction. Often what I'll do is go to the article and then find a reference that looks like a good overview book or article. But in this case, and perhaps I'm missing something, most of the references seem fairly specific (e.g., not population dynamics in general or in human hunter gatherers which is what I'm interested in but in Brachiopods). I also looked for books on Amazon. I found a few but none of them stand out as really good ones, they don't have many reviews or quotes from leading biologists on the cover. The ones I found are: A Primer on Population Dynamics (of all of them this looks the best) and Principles of Population Dynamics and Delay Differential Equations: With Applications in Population Dynamics I'm not afraid of complex math such as Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Game Theory, etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. --MadScientistX11 (talk) 16:43, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
