Suspected sockpuppets

I've noticed some odd behavior at Portal:Current events and Wikipedia:In the news/Candidates. "New" editors show up at these two fairly out of the way places, show proficiency with Wikipedia tools and processes, edit (and edit war) for a while, and then "retire". Syria/Palestine/Israel seem to be a common theme. Israeli–Palestinian conflict (2015) and Aleppo offensive (October 2015 – present) for example. Requesting CU to check for connections and sleepers. The editor has also edited contrary to policy while logged out. I've blocked the socks and issued a 2 week block to the master account. Mike VTalk 03:21, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In this edit Spliff Joint Blunt admitted to being a sockpuppet of AndresHerutJaim, who has been blocked for multiple sockpuppetry since 2012, so I have extended the block on Spliff Joint Blunt to indefinite. your war behavior now as it has been in the past is the issue not the wording of any wiki item--68.231.26.111 (talk) 17:22, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
