Suspected sockpuppets
[edit]
Pro-forma, logging evidence here. I got an e-mail from Extraordinary Writ expressing a concern that Lazy Maniik is Vivek ji123, and I think they are spot on.
- Some context: See this ANI discussion, which led to the master being blocked because of CIR and hat collecting issues. There is a previous case involving Vivek ji123 (and their lock summary includes a reference to another account), but enwiki CU found the two to be unrelated. I also note that it seems fairly apparent from their contributions that Maniik was not new when they joined (the extremely elaborate userpage creation in their first edit comes to mind).
- Exact same infobox on userpages, down to the title including "User: " (note the space) as a prefix, the non-disambiguated link to Barabanki, separated by the same number of hyphens, and physical description: [1][2]
- Sock editing masters user page years after their block [3]
- Sock returning to two of the master's (few) article creations, both very low-traffic: [4][5]
- Edit summaries referencing "illegal characters"
- ...when adding wikilinks: [6][7]
- ...with "characters" misspelt as "characherters": [8][9]
- Similar writing style and language proficiency, particularly with regard to capitalisation and punctuation spacing. This is hard to quantify, but see for example [10][11]. Lazy Maniik has stated that they use Google Translate to edit ([12])
- Strong interest in hats, with a tendency to contact admins directly in order to obtain them. Note that both copy-paste requests by others:

- There's more in the general editing pattern (concerns about bad patrolling, for example); I primarily wanted to log some things that may not be immediately obvious. Blocked and tagged, closing. --Blablubbs (talk) 09:36, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
