Suspected sockpuppets
[edit]
Evidence:
- All accounts were active during the summer for short periods of time and then ceased editing
- All accounts primarily use the visual editor.
- All accounts within a short period of time re-activated to !vote keep at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kai Exos.
Behaviourally, the evidence is quite strong but I am concerned about wider involvement. I have noticed in some articles like at Rick Soukoulis. Mkdwtalk 07:29, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like the previous paid sock farm is back:
- Chris Santos (Actor) is a word for word Chris Santos (actor) created by PolMind.
- Kris Degioia was recreated word for word by Whitestar22.
- Both accounts hold a very similar editing style to Hesenbergg (talk · contribs). Notice the visual editor, spacing, and rapid bit of activity separating paragraphs and then article creation a few days later.

[edit]Quacking like a well-known Disney character - JohnsonClark created Kris Degioia and seems to think all primary sources is acceptable. IP created Draft:WTF Multimedia. Given the vast number of previous socks here it seems this is all part of the same sockfarm. Requesting CU for sleepers and other potential sockfarming going on. - And could we please salt Kris R Degioia and likely variant Kris R. Degioia, as well? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 20:11, 8 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bonvallite is Unrelated. I know of no other master, among all the Degioia masters I'm aware of to whom Bonvallite is related.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:18, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Clerk note: @Bbb23: This account's Draft:Adventure Emirates - in its earlier version - reminds me of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Albulalisaid, plus JohnyJohnyyesPappa (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · spi block · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki), who may well be the actual master of the aforementioned case. Thought this was worth mentioning, considering it's an odd coincidence. GABgab 20:42, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- The following accounts are Confirmed:
- This is fairly obviously paid editing with a general pattern of article creation. I've blocked the unblocked accounts without tags. Please figure out which account is the oldest and either stick them in the existing SPI or create another one. Then they can be tagged.

- Clerk note: @Bbb23: Will do. And just out of curiosity, Anjalidharmapalaae (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · spi block · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki) was previously blocked as a sock of Albulalisaid; do they fit into this picture, or are they just meat? Thanks again, GABgab 21:52, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Curiosity killed the cat. Anjalidharmapalaae is Unrelated and not meat, either.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:59, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- Clerk note: @Bbb23: Another sock, GrillTW (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · spi block · block log · CA · CheckUser(log) · investigate · cuwiki), popped up on Jibin George Sebastian. No need for CU, but a block would be much appreciated. Thanks, GABgab 00:43, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
- I was going to report this as well. IP 180.215.123.156 twice removed Guanaco's CSD noms, and now suddenly an SPA pops up to do the same. I strongly suspect that the IPs are Waffen, particularly because of their poor attempts at contesting the G5 speedy delete nom. "the article was created before the ban it must not be speed deleted as it will be violation of CSD 5 if its deleted" No, obviously Waffen was indeffed long before the article was created. However, I'm curious what should ultimately be done about Jibin George Sebastian. Could it in fact be speedied under G5? Apart from normal article tagging and cat additions and other maintenance issues, the only substantive content was added by an IP in the 180.215.* range. If we believe this is the same person, can we delete? Do we consider the tagging and cleanup edits to be "substantial"? (Cue new SPAs fleshing out the article to skirt speedy-delete rules, I say cynically.) Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:33, 27 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]Another nutso account, this time an IP, pleading with us to salt the Kris Degioia accounts that we have already salted. I don't think this is trolling, I think there's a genuine mental competence issue. This IP also created the non-notable Draft:Jeremy Schott a short while back. But all we could do in this case if there is a link to the socker is temporarily block the IP, right? Shawn in Montreal (talk) 22:55, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

- Here are some more SPAs that I have recently blocked who are related to this mess somehow, as sock or meat puppets. -- Ed (Edgar181) 23:58, 12 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]The editing here smacks of COI editing and I believe that there are other accounts involved too, I haven't blocked this farm before (only G5 deleted), so I'm bringing. Jibin George Sebastian has been a long term paid COI problem and it's sprung up with this account too (most recently it was a Waffen77 interest but also that at wp:Sockpuppet investigations/JibinGs. Pinging GeneralizationsAreBad and Bbb23 as they are more familiar with this. —SpacemanSpiff 03:45, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bettersmiley is Unrelated to Waffen77. He is Possible to JibinGs. He is a technical match UA-wise, but it's a common UA. His location and that of JibinGs are not too far away, but they do not use the same IP ranges. The only other thing I noticed is their edit summaries are quite different. Bettersmiley uses arrows consistently, whereas JibinGs and socks do not and mark most edits as minor. My hunch is Bettersmiley is not a sock, but that doesn't mean that what he's doing isn't problematic. As an aside, he was named in yet another SPI, Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Hernando.cortez where he was found to be unrelated.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:59, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
