It's Kamala Harris week, plus several Indian women. With overlap. Along with 10+ million views to Joe Biden's running mate, the articles related to her were enough to kick off the pandemic currently screwing everyone!

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
Kamala Harris 11,843,595 California lawyer and senator who was announced this week as the Democrat VP pick with running-mate #8. She was a popular choice, had a brief presidential campaign last year, and brings the rest of her family to the list. In the days after her selection, birtherism was reborn: though she was definitely born in California, with an American father, she is not white, which is enough to send certain people into discredit mode.
Shyamala Gopalan 1,851,954
As a result of #1 being chosen as a VP candidate, attention was brought in for the whole family - in order, her mother, her sister (above), her father, and her husband (below).
Maya Harris 1,644,390
Donald J. Harris 1,640,562
Douglas Emhoff 1,427,685
QAnon 1,370,205 Marjorie Taylor Greene, a vocal supporter of Q, won a primary to a safe seat in the United States House of Representatives on Tuesday. Trump twote in support the next morning, leading to a question in a briefing. Trump sidestepped it, without mentioning Q.
The Umbrella Academy (TV series) 986,180 Netflix released the second season of this a little while ago, setting the apocalypse in Dallas. The moral of the story seems to be that even when you try really hard, you can still get everything wrong? That, or join a cult.
Joe Biden 836,439 While current president Trump (#18) has spent a lot of time on this list, the Democrats are presently occupying a lot of the top 10. Biden is Trump's competition as the countdown to November's election continues. He picked a running mate, #1, this week.
Gunjan Saxena 814,894 An Indian female air force pilot, a movie about her life (where she's played by actress Janhvi Kapoor, pictured) was released August 12 on Netflix.
Deaths in 2020 813,025 "But if this ever changin' world in which we're living
Makes you give in and cry
Say Live and Let Die!"
Meena Harris 782,464 Another lawyer, daughter of #3 and by extension niece of #1.
2020 World Snooker Championship 586,456 Some sports - some sports - are still on. Snooker is one of them.
Collin Morikawa 574,348 And golf is another. This 23-year-old won a major this week.
Independence Day (India) 542,528 Occurred on August 15, celebrating independence from Britain in 1947.
List of most-disliked YouTube videos 540,829 A trailer for Sadak 2, released Tuesday, has become the 3rd most disliked Youtube video. The 11 million dislikes come from fans of the late Sushant Singh Rajput, enraged by the fact that the film's star Alia Bhatt and her father who directs this movie, Mahesh Bhatt, didn't like Rajput that much.
Pizzagate conspiracy theory 532,407 Here's that other conspiracy theory the alt right just loves.
Shakuntala Devi 520,430 Another Indian woman who was the subject of a recent biopic, this one on Amazon Prime, and starring Vidya Balan (pictured).
2020 Beirut explosions 514,045 Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab and his cabinet resigned on Monday, as the explosions on August 4 seem to be caused by government negligence. The resignations haven't stopped the daily protests, though.
Donald Trump 498,423 He doesn't like #1.
Belarus 477,454 Alexander Lukashenko was first elected President of Belarus in 1994, and shortly after won referendums to massively increase his power and extend his five year term by an extra 2. Though he claims to have won a sixth term last Sunday, protesters want him to step down in favor of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
Political positions of Kamala Harris 457,688 #1 probably won't have a huge impact in a Biden administration, but it's still fun to get mad about her political views.
Rahat Indori 455,783 This Bollywood lyricist and Urdu poet died of something related to COVID-19.
Susan Rice 455,688 Barack Obama's National Security Advisor was considered a contender in Biden's veepstakes, though she lost out to this report's #1 entry.
Tony West (attorney) 444,187 As the article title suggests, he's another lawyer. Yes, he's related to #1: brother-in-law (husband of #3). He was also a DA under Obama and #8.
WAP (song) 437,673 A Cardi B song about women liking sex. Some men on the internet seem to have taken this with personal offense. If you somehow haven't heard Ben Shapiro dismissively saying "Wet Ass P-Word", do yourself a favor and look it up.
