Perhaps the closing admin would be gracious enough to explain his rationale. --Cheeser1 (talk) 20:56, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There were only a few arguments presented in support of deleting the page. They include:
  • "This user set up a single Wikipedia page to advertise completely non-notable software that he wrote for a class. It was unanimously deleted." This is irrelevant to the present question.
  • "User does nothing to build the encyclopedia". This is demonstrably false.
  • User does not do enough build the encyclopedia. Those arguing keep pointed out that "enough" is a very subjective threshold to meet.
  • "He links to this userpage as if it were his homepage". This is interesting and relevant to the debate per WP:NOT#WEBHOST.
So it boils down to weighing the arguments of the keeps against the webhost argument, and ultimately the keeps have it. The onus to show that a page should be deleted rests on those wishing to have gone. Very many user pages exists that are far more self-serving than this one in its current form; there is nothing so egregious about this user page to merit its deletion in its current form.
Also, I am not an administrator, and it is within the rights of any administrator to revert my close at will. ➪HiDrNick! 21:29, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. You should reread WP:DPR#NAC. This MfD is clearly governed by the clause "close calls and controversial or ambiguous decisions should be left to an administrator." I've reverted it myself, and ask that you do familiarize yourself with the conditions under which a non-admin closure is appropriate. You should also state "non-admin closure" when you close any XfD. --Cheeser1 (talk) 01:37, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As nominator, your reversion is out of order, but I will not edit war over it. Consensus is clear to those not emotionally invested in the issue, as an administrator will point out shortly. ➪HiDrNick! 02:12, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As a non-admin, your closure was out of order. Any editor can, and should, revert it as highly inappropriate. --Cheeser1 (talk) 17:16, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And thanks for the AGF. --Cheeser1 (talk) 17:16, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
