Ziaabad (Persian: ضياءآباد)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, Ziaabad District of Takestan County, Qazvin province, Iran.[4] It was formerly the capital of Dodangeh-ye Olya Rural District[5] until the capital was transferred to the village of Farsajin.[6]
At the 2006 census, its population was 8,385 in 2,411 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 8,637 people in 2,671 households.[8] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 8,262 people in 2,737 households.[2]
The language of the city was one of the Turkish language dialects, based on some sources the language is Azerbaijani Turkish.[9][10][11][12] The main agricultural production of Ziaabad is walnut.[13]
