Withdrawn by nominator (non-admin closure) PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 20:29, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Iselin Solheim (edit · talk · history · links · watch · logs · delete) · close request
PotsdamLamb has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Originally QD'd, however, it is disputed that she is disputed. Talk:Iselin_Solheim. She does not, IMO, meet WP:Music as she meets none of the requirements. Putting this up for discussion. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 19:22, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.
Keep - The subject of this article meets the WP:CREATIVE guidelines. Please also look up her Wikipedia article on 1 and, if you want to, you could help me expand this article. Nythar (talk) 19:29, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @Nythar She falls under WP:Music per this article as it discusses her doing music and studying music, therefore she falls under and only under the music guidelines. If you can expand it and provide relative and true references, then this can be a snowball keep and I will self close as withdrawn. As of now, she meets no criteria to be on simpleWP. - @PotsdamLamb: It's a bit odd for someone to tag a page for speedy deletion moments after it was made and then say "If you can expand it and provide relative and true references, then this can be a snowball keep and I will self close as withdrawn. As of now, she meets no criteria to be on simpleWP." Couldn't you have saved it on your watchlist and waited a week or two and then tagged it for deletion if you hadn't found it meeting notability guidelines? Nythar (talk) 19:43, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @Nythar It is not weird actually. We have a lot of editors who come to simple (most {not saying you} come here because they were blocked or banned on enWP) and create short articles on people not meeting any guidelines. We are a very small wiki and we keep the wiki as clean as possible by nipping these in the bud as soon as we can. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 19:46, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @PotsdamLamb: Simple English Wikipedia is not a "very small wiki" (don't know where you got that from), and neither am I blocked on enWP. You also don't have to "keep the wiki as clean as possible" by deleting pages with small amounts of information; you could add more information to those pages and expand this encyclopedia. And, like I said above, you don't need to tag pages for speedy deletion moments after they were made. Nythar (talk) 20:01, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @Nythar We are a very small wiki, it is all over the wikipedia and you will see that a lot. I said you were not blocked (reference my previous remarks), I explained that a lot of editors come from there and do harm to this wikipedia. Yes we do try to keep it clean here and expand articles. Yes I agree I should have waited to see if it got expanded, so I apologize for that. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 20:07, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- The focus of the article does not change the fact that a subject is notable. An article about Barack Obama that is focused on him playing basketball and giving interviews on talk shows, rather than PotUS, does not mean his notability should be defined as an athlete and public speaker. It means the article needs to be refocused. WP:Music is not the sole means of determining notability here. No single guideline should be used to omit a person. Each should be applied to support one. If a person fails one but succeeds in another, that second one still applies even if it is not the focus of the article. Pure Evil (talk) 20:08, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Keep I feel being the lead vocalist on 2 songs that are certified at various levels, from gold to 13x platinum to diamond, in multiple countries as well as one of the most watched YouTube videos establishes sufficient notability. Faded has moved over 1m units in the US, UK and Germany. It is certified in about 20 countries. The other song has a dozen or so certifications. The article does need clean up, but I do not see an issue with notability.Pure Evil (talk) 20:00, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
