Fakhrabad (Persian: فخراباد), also Romanized as Fakhrābād,[3] is a city in Meshgin-e Sharqi District, Meshgin Shahr County, Ardabil province, Iran, serving as the administrative center for Qarah Su Rural District.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 1,282 in 334 households, when it was a village in Qarah Su Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,114 people in 357 households.[6] The census in 2016 showed a population of 999 people in 364 households,[2] by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[7]
