Kalateh-ye Khij (Persian: كلاته خيج, also Romanized as Kalāteh Khīj, Kalāteh-ye Khīj, and Kalāteh-i-Khīj; also known as Kalāteh Khonj)[3] is a city in Bastam District of Shahrud County, Semnan province, Iran. It was the administrative center for Kalat-e Hay-ye Gharbi Rural District until transferred to the village of Khij.[4]
At the 2006 census, its population was 5,335 in 1,447 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 5,057 people in 1,536 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 5,651 people in 1,802 households.[2]
