Kuhestak (Persian: کوهستک, also Romanized as Kūhestak, Koohastak, Kouhestak, Kūhastak, and Kūhistak)[3] is a city in, and the capital of, Bemani District of Sirik County, Hormozgan province, Iran.[4] It is also the administrative center for Bemani Rural District.[5]
At the 2006 census, its population was 2,449 in 430 households, when it was a village in Bemani Rural District of the former Byaban District of Minab County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 2,548 people in 591 households,[7] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sirik County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 3,060 people in 746 households,[2] when the village of Kuhestak had been elevated to the status of a city.[8]
