Mushemi (Persian: موشمي)[a] is a village in Zilayi Rural District of Zilayi District, Margown County, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, Iran, serving as capital of both the district[4] and the rural district.[5]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 793 in 153 households, when it was in the former Margown District of Boyer-Ahmad County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 1,057 people in 216 households.[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 751 people in 188 households.[2]
In October 2018, Margown District was separated from Boyer-Ahmad County in the establishment of Margown County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Margown as its capital.[4] Additionally, the village of Mushemi-ye Sofla was renamed Mushemi.[4]
