Petri Pasanen is a Finnish Association Football player, born in Lahti in 1980.

A talented defender, Pasanen began his career at local club FC Lahti. During three seasons at the club he played 57 games, and earned two caps for the Finland national football team.

His performances meant some of Europe's biggest clubs were taking note, and it was Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam that beat off competition to sign him. Pasanen played 29 games for the club in his first season, earning two more caps for the Finnish national side in the process.

Unfortuantly his career soon faltered at Ajax, and struggling for games he was loaned to English club Portsmouth for the second half of the 2003/04 season. His success during his loan spell convinced German club Werder Bremen to sign Pasanen for the 2004/05 season.

Pasanen is a regular for the Finnish national team.
