At the time of the 2006 National Census, Shahr-e Kohneh's population was 3,683 in 930 households, when it was a village in Quchan Atiq Rural District of the Central District.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,486 people in 980 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 3,320 people in 1,062 households.
