Simply changed his term in office as Chancellor of Gulfport. The cited source clearly had an error of a single digit, because (1) he could not have been elected in 1820 when he wasn't born until 1874, nor retired 78 years later when he earned a law degree at the age of 4; and (2) the 1920-1928 period works because it said he served two four-year terms and immediately after was elected to the state supreme court in 1928.
