Crankshaft
Undid revision 1223079800 by Rittodemarko (talk) much better to link to the article on the subject. This external site does not qualify as an RS and, even if it did, should not be linked in the main body of the article.currentTag: Undo

Lateen
→Diffusion to Indian Ocean: removal of extraneous detail - it is now established that the lateen had a Mediterranean origin, so we do not need to drone on about the earlier misunderstanding.

Cutty Sark
If we are listing surviving examples of composite ships, HMS Gannet should be mentioned - especially as she is in a good state of preservation and well looked after by her owners.Tag: Disambiguation links added

HMS Endeavour
Nothing in the main text of the article suggests that the repairs were in any way "rudimentary". The fact that further repairs were needed in Batavia appears to be a function of the amount of damage received.

Sea Venture
Undid revision 1222434681 by Steveprutz (talk) This link is inappropriate. The word "barke"/"bark" had a different meaning at that time. The names of types of ships based on their rig rather than their use or hull form is more a 19th century thing.currentTag: Undo

Clipper (disambiguation)
Undid revision 1222319452 by Clarityfiend (talk) Yes, I have amended the article (which is in pretty terrible shape and needs more work). Those edits are supported by the sources, which I am familiar with and are at my side now. Maritime terminology can be a nightmare of ambiguity, (see preface to Greenhill's The Merchant Schooners for this) but these changes seem to pick out the best interpretation.Tag: Undo

Clipper (disambiguation)
Undid revision 1222299567 by Clarityfiend (talk) the previous version is more factually correct. Here is not the place to go into all the technicalities of when Baltimore Clippers actually got that name, but it is now applied to some ships that were built in the 18th century. As the shortest of summaries, we need to give a clue here that "19th century" is not absolute.Tags: UndoReverted

Vasa (ship)
→Ship structure: surely a better way of handling the deficiency pointed out by the previous edit – show the dates of loss of all the wrecks in this comparison. For Mary Rose, there is the link to the article for more information. The point being made in the main source, which the article attempts to follow, is that there is precious little surviving material from the rigging of ships of this 152 year period of history and most of it is from Vasa.current

Paula Vennells
→Post Office scandal: surely the hiring of Second Sight was not just down to Vennells - the evidence we hear from the enquiry is to the contrary and the contract would have been with the Post Office. This is just poor journalistic language.

Crofting
going back to a revised version of the original text with the addition of references. The failing of both versions preceding this one is that it implies that crofts existed in the same location as the communal farms. This is most emphatically not the case.
