I appreciate the effort others put in to cleaning up articles. However, I think "not a web directory" is an unsubstantiated opinion on how pages should look, not a policy against lists of external links. .gc.ca would be improved if theres more information on how the gov of Canada adminsiters the 2nd level domain, as well as some example websites under gc.ca. The second part has been achieved, now I'm working on the first part. I would like to eventually see this page reflect the .gov article as well. If any editors are interested, I would like some help in improving this article, not reverting it to 6 years back. I would like to achieve a good balance between comprehensive list and informative and useful, and unilateral undos aren't very demonstrative of the spirit of compromise. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.55.155.242 (talk) 21:32, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm willing to help improve the article, but please note that despite what you say, there is a clear policy regarding Wikipedia's function. Specifically (from that policy document), it is neither a repository of links nor a directory. Let's work on adding content, instead of a set of links. One task may be to add a link to the various agency and department WP pages to this article, stating its domain is in the scope of gc.ca. Those articles will already contain links to their respective websites. Mindmatrix 22:25, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yup I started on it i know its still kinda messy but better than a stub. ill go dig up some verifiable sources later to add to the main body. later96.55.155.242 (talk) 02:16, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Request to add Shared Services Canada to the list[edit]
This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
Pretty much every other domain page Wikipedia article does not have a list of websites. Pizza0614 (talk) 04:43, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There are a number of duplicate listings as well. Perhaps if list is kept, it should be listed in alphabetical order. 204.191.228.58 (talk) 17:35, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
