Discussion[edit]

Graywalls Please explain removal of multiple images of parents? I've seen this used effectively with Abraham Lincoln and other wiki bio pages. I think it adds valid info on page. Thanks! --Greg Henderson (talk) 16:56, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a place to share family photos, promote family members, etc. Also, removing page view graph as this is not something typically done. Graywalls (talk) 21:07, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request Edit A[edit]

Not done Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, as many other editors have suggested. This is trivia that is being supported by primary sources, which are not considered WP:NPOV independent reliable sources. Netherzone (talk) 22:06, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Netherzone I understand your point. Below is a secondary source from Pat Mangan from the Miami Hearld. Is this OK? New Mental Clinic's 'Busting' With Pride.--Greg Henderson (talk) 22:33, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is a bit uncertain because it doesn't say how much stock was donated, or the fact he was donating to his own organization it probably involved tax breaks that benefited Henderson, its importance is not well established. -- GreenC 20:33, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request Edit B[edit]

Can someone remove the WP:COI tag? It looks like a cleanup has been done to comply with Wikipedia's content policies WP:WTRMT. --Greg Henderson (talk) 19:22, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Given that you have continued to edit your COI articles, not declared all of your articles with which you have a COI, that you have difficulty understanding NPOV as a connected editor, and COI edited for seven years. I have to say no. Netherzone (talk) 20:22, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Correction, Since July 26, I am now using the Request edits on talk pages and not editing my COI articles. I have made a COI declaration on my user page. I have reviewed and understand the WP:NPOV guidelines. Please let me know what else I need to do for the tag removal?--Greg Henderson (talk) 20:35, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removed. I have gone through the article and made some changes as have others. I've added the article to my watchlist. The purpose of the tag is not to control behavior of editors. If the editor continues unwanted behavior take it to ANI. -- GreenC 20:11, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Greg Henderson, done. -- GreenC 20:16, 4 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request Edit D[edit]

Done. Added to article but reworded to more appropriately meet Puffery, NPOV standards. For citation, category only included RS citation, rather than the first person source. Go4thProsper (talk) 18:32, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request Edit E[edit]

Comment. Please see the comment made by S. Rich at Talk:Alexander_D._Henderson_(businessman)#Notability it becomes the question of whether things should be included if it can only be located on primary source government records. There's such records in government records for ANYBODY that's been married or been in the service, however if such records are the only things that even talk about it, adding the contents solely based off of that is a due weight matter. If a newspaper article in the journalist's own writing identifies the record, that's one thing, but if an Wikipedia editor locates the primary source record and match the name to article subject person, that is doing WP:OR by interpreting primary source on their own. What I am saying is that if primary sources, or crummy sources like Familysearch and Findgrave are the only sources that include that information, then we seriously ought to consider omitting those information. The primary concern is that many of these Henderson and Ford articles appear to have the framework based on that Henderson Family Tree website and simply trying to cobble together sources to fit around the contents you desire to include. Graywalls (talk) 15:56, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Possibly and Netherzone:, as users who have been involved on this matter, do you have any thoughts on above comment? Graywalls (talk) 15:59, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Graywalls, I'm trying to AGF, however the recent lapse back to COI editing was disappointing to see. Especially since some good, productive work was done in the meantime.
Primary sources should be avoided. It is unclear if some of the recent edit requests are being made just to add the names of grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles or children and are not really relevant to the biography itself. As discussed previously, WP is not a genealogy website, that is what sites like Ancestry.com, MyHeritage, OneGreatFamily, LegacyTree and others are for. Another option is for the editor has to record his ancestry and lower-quality links to own website: Henderson Family Tree website which already exists.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and biographic articles do not need to include every bit of minutia or trivial mention out there. There already have been several errors introduced into more than one article by cobbling together bits and pieces from FamilySearch and FindGrave.
Some details could be simply added to the infobox, and do not need lengthy prose. For example, IMO it's enough that the info box says 2 children. If he was married more than once, it's enough that the infobox lists two spouses. It is not necessary to to include the month and year and place where he was married and divorced (see edit requests below.) In all the other articles, I felt he really dragged his feet before he finally clearly revealed on his page which articles he has COI with. I see he's working on creating yet another article on Ford/Henderson family relatives, with a bunch of trivial mention snippets that merely mentions their presence at meeting and such. See Draft:Tirey_L._Ford_Jr. Graywalls (talk) 22:19, 18 February 2021 (UTC) I was replying to @Netherzone: Graywalls (talk) 22:20, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Currently trying to go through the backlog on COI edit requests; I'm going to mark this as declined based upon the above conversation. — Mikehawk10 (talk) 03:44, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done per WP:NOTGENEALOGY. There is no reason to include a family tree in this article. Greg, you have done some great work on Wikipedia, but please refrain from using the encyclopedia as a venue for your family geneaology. There have been many discussions about this over the years involving multiple editors and notice boards. Please use one of the ancestry sites for this type of information, such as Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org or your own personal Henderson geneaology website. Best regards, Netherzone (talk) 17:09, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Netherzone: Thank you for your comments. This was an old template I created on my user page several years ago to see how this type of template works. I have not used it on any articles until Nigej brought it to my attention. I do not see the harm in using it, however, I will defer to your judgement. Please see other editors that have included a family tree in their article: List of family trees for US. --Greg Henderson (talk) 17:37, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
