There is an Asian Art Museum on the mall of the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. as well, although perhaps that is not its official name. It is underground, adjacent to the also underground African Art Museum, in the garden behind the Smithsonian Castle (original building).
Is the Chong Moon Lee museum (where stolen goods from Thailand were found in 2016) a part of this museum? See Priceless Buri Ram lintel found in San Francisco 178.232.234.234 (talk) 05:38, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
