Daniel Craig is an English-American actor. He was born with English (more correct: British nationality) and gained American citizenship in 2019. In the page history on 3 January 2023; FrozenIcicle said "Born and raised in England and wasn't American when he first gained notability. He has American citizenship now and that's fine, but he is primarily known for being English/British". What matters is his current Citizenship which is both British and American. Craig also played American characters such as detective Benoit Blanc in the 2019 film Knives Out. "In 2018, Craig purchased a house in Brooklyn, New York, for an amount in excess of $6 million." So he partially lives in the United States. -Artanisen (talk) 17:53, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
He gained notability as an English/British actor, and was born and raised there. And even if he does hold American citizenship (which he recently obtained in his 50s), he is obviously more primarily known for being English.
Just because he has multiple passports does not mean we have to list everyone of them. Many notable BLPs are of people who have dual or triple citizenship and the general consensus tends to be that we do not list them all unless otherwise stated. If it's worth noting, his wife got U.S citizenship several years before he did, and that appears to have been motivated because of green card status, making travel/working in the U.S less of a hassle and voting in the election.[1]
I did it because I thought I would go back to England for a while, and lose my green card ... I’m not going back now, but being a citizen means I can vote here, which is exciting
Well officially there is no "English citizen", because there's only the British passport. He has 2 nationalities: British and American which is not a long list. He also has a house in the US and partially lives there. Thus both should be mentioned. He may identify primarily as British or English though. Maybe there's a reference about this. In that case, it should be added to the Infobox. For example the Infobox of actor Gérard Depardieu lists 4 citizenships. The article about Emily Blunt mentions she is a British-American actress. Craig is also a dual citizen of the UK and US. -Artanisen (talk) 03:08, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Article lacks any mention of Craig’s narration in select editions of Andrew Chater’s ‘History File’, a series of short historical documentaries that are shown in many secondary schools in the U.K Drpepper2004 (talk) 16:48, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
