I have no idea what the company does, nor why it's mentioned, but it's definitely not encyclopaedical (I swear that's a real word >_> )... marked as advertising as I'm not brave enough to clean up the article myself ^^

Are the appliances used on wet or dry hair? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.78.75.150 (talk) 16:07, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
This page seems very prone to external link spam, and spam such as changing the brand names in the examples. Let's get rid of them altogether. Scott Ritchie 22:36, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
Ian Gutgold is totally incorrect as the first man to use chemicals to straigten hair, the person in question was trying to prove a point of the unreliability of Wikipedia. I suppose four years is a long enough point. Source it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.15.224.64 (talk) 02:32, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I think a link should be added to Madame C.J. Walker
'Hair straighteners should not be used on wet hair because they are specified as wet to dry straighteners. Even then the hair cannot be soaking wet. ' -the 'because' should be 'unless'. I have changed it. Baberlp 19:38, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Is this list really necessary? It does not provide any useful information and seems indiscriminate. Any problem removing it, or at least limiting the list to companies that have Wikipedia articles? If no objection I'll do this in the next couple of days Pnkrockr 04:56, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

I've removed the history section for the time being as the sources were all primary sources (we use secondary sources), and the information in the section didn't match up with the sources anyway. Please feel free to re-add the history section, but only when it is reliably sourced. Rklawton (talk) 19:10, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
