Is there a defined selection criteria for this list? Are these 'notable' firearms? Or every firearm model ever named? Or..? Whatever the case, the article needs to have a lead describing its contents and criteria, per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Stand-alone listsRezin (talk) 23:13, 4 December 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
At the time of writing, this page is 529,638 bytes; that is far too long. What's the best way to split it? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:33, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Having had no meaningful response, I've split out the "S" section. I'll do more later. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:32, 22 December 2018 (UTC)Reply[reply]
The best splitting I could think of would be giving each letter or a set of letters their own article (depending on the length) and this article be the main hub with the redirect links AtomicAndy8044 22:23, 17 January 2024 (EST)
