I've got a WP:COI as I know Lucy so won't edit the article. I shall thus post material here for expansion. Lucy has been signed up for the TEDxYouth event in Christchurch on 24 August 2019.[1]Schwede66 03:23, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. My name is Adam Daniel bin Asrul, whom my Ukrainian Slavic name is Lyubomyr Khaledovych Bilyovych, and my Croatian Slavic name is Berislav Ismailović, I'm from Malaysia and I'm 16 years old this year. I want to talk in this page a little bit on Lucy Gray which I will say about her in my and Slavic sight.
As I'm a Ukrainian-language editor of Wikipedia, I have my Ukrainian sight. According to me, Lucy Gray's name in the Ukrainian sight is Oleksandra Mykhaylivna Zelenivna, or Oleksandra Zelenivna as simple, and I would like to think her through that name.
Hello Adam. Does Lucy Gray have any connection to Ukraine, please? Has she ever been there? Has she become a cult icon there. If there is a Ukrainian connection, then English language readers may be interested to know it. Please add a sentence in the article explaining why she is important to Ukrianian-language readers.
BUT as far as I can see English language readers do not need - or in 99,999 cases out of 100,000 wish - to know how to write her name in Ukarinian or in any language besides English. Very few English language speakers understand Ukarianian or even Russian (or French or Spanish which are taught - generally very badly - in a few English schools. I learned Russian about fifty years ago, so I can read approximately how it might sound with a Soviet accent, but I never got too far past the alphabet.) I think that by placing the Ukrainian spelling of her name prominently in the article you simply distract people from more important stuff - what she does, what she says, and how the politicians and journalists and "people" more generally react to these. Therefore I suggest that her name in Ukrainian should be removed, but more detail (from the sources already added and from any more plausible sources you or anyone else can find and use) should be added. What do you say?
Hi User:Schwede66, for context the most recent anon edits are mine (forgot to sign in)
I just wanted to confirm those citations were enough
I am also confused as to why the BLP template was removed - is she not a living person?

Kia ora Ella, when I edit, I generally leave a meaningful edit summary so that others know what I'm doing. You get to that edit summary via an article's history tab (click on "View history"). In this case, it says – ah, sorry, something went wrong, it only says: "as per the template's documentation, it". What I was supposed to say is: "as per the template's documentation, it says that this template is intended for article talk pages". Sorry about that. Thanks for attending to the "citation needed" tag, although an independent and less promotional reference would be preferred. Schwede66 05:08, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Schwede66 ahh I see thank you! yea I was a little confused around that edit summary but all makes sense now Mā te wā, Ella (talk) 05:28, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, Ella, in case you know Lucy or meet her sometimes, we really need a more up-to-date photo. From a licensing perspective, it's much simpler if you take it rather than ask Lucy to supply one. Schwede66 05:14, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Schwede66 unfortunately I've never met Lucy irl! if she ever does a gig of some kind up in Hamilton I'll be happy to supply one - she's expressed that she wants a new one too haha Mā te wā, Ella (talk) 05:27, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ellarii: Ha, I've known Lucy since she was 9. I've just emailed her mum to see whether she wants to help us. Schwede66 07:19, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
