User:Mzajac marked this article as a candidate for moving to Wiktionary. Why? The article discusses the history of ranged weapons and thus goes beyond the scope of Wiktionary, which is just to give a definition. --ZeroOne 11:10, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
What's the preferred name for that term, "Ranged weapon" or "Missile weapon"? Should we move this article to missile weapon? Nik Sage • Talk 17:55, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
I can't help but feel like this is yet another dismal attempt to turn a video-game term into a wikipedia article. I would like to see some sourcing in the first paragraph, where the assertions are made about the terms "ranged weapon" and "melee weapon." Otherwise I would recomend that this article be deleted. Also, cruise missiles are not an individual weapon at all; they are ORDINANCE, which means they fall into the same category as artillery. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.177.14.225 (talk) 14:50, 17 November 2011 (UTC)
Category:Personal weapons, Category:Throwing spears and Category:Ancient artillery are categories within Category:Weapons, Category:Spears and Category:Artillery respectively. — Robert Greer (talk) 17:24, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
