A fact from Verdi Square appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 7 April 2022 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Verdi Square was originally a triangle?
Could someone who lives in the area take a picture of the monument to Verdi so that we could put it in the article? It seems to be the main attraction of the square, and yet we can't see any of it in the picture that is currently in the article. --DearPrudence (talk) 04:42, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ALT4: ... that a seasonal music festival was launched in New York City's Verdi Square after a local resident saw street musicians in Europe? Source: Scherer, Barrymore Laurence (September 10, 2009). "Barrymore Laurence Scherer on the Verdi Square Festival of the Arts". Wall Street Journal The festival was the brainchild of Lauri Grossman, a homeopath whose apartment faces the square across Broadway. Ms. Grossman had just returned from a trip to Italy when the new station kiosk was dedicated in 2002, and hearing music connected with that event she thought, "If this were Europe, there'd be music performed in that park all the time."
@Epicgenius: Over 5x expanded four days before nomination. Certainly long enough and adheres to policies. Hooks all check out, though ALT3 may not be interesting to people who have not heard of those people. I prefer the simplicity of ALT0. So, just waiting for QPQ. eviolite(talk)16:06, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
