The third Saudi state was known at the beginning of its reign as "the Emirate of Riyadh" and "the Emirate of Nejd and Hasa" and the emirate was able to expand until 1921 and was able to control the entire Najd region. After the overthrow of the rival emirate of Hail, and the Emirate of Najd and Al-Ahsa became known as the Sultanate of Nejd, then the Kingdom of Hejaz was annexed, and its name became the Kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd and its annexes. The name continued to exist until the annexation of the Southern Territory and the announcement of the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932.
