AlexanderKlink, good luck, and have fun. – Aboutmovies (talk) 05:45, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I see that you replaced a photo of the cathedral that I took with a photo that you took. Let me start by saying that I like your photo a lot, and I commend you for adding it to Wikimedia Commons. Here are a few reasons I think my photo may be better for the article than yours. My photo better illustrates the images of the various saints that adorn the facade of the cathedral. Your photo includes scaffolding indicating that a renovation is in process, but does not illustrate referenced text content about the renovation. Your photo includes a banner promoting the congregation, which raises neutral point of view issues. Let me finish by saying that I appreciate your photos, that I commend you for adding them, and that my goal is always to improve the encyclopedia. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. I agree about the scaffolding, am skeptical about NPOV issue (it's obvious that's just how reality looks like at the moment and not the point of the photo) and like the quality better and the fact that you can see more of the "structure" of the building (2D vs. 3D) in my photo, but I'd be fine with reverting it - feel free to do so. --AlexanderKlink (talk) 06:20, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you about the "3D" aspect of your photo, which is superior to mine. Though your photo does not show all five domes, your photo makes it is easier to visualize all of them than mine does. As for the POV issue, your photo also includes a Richmond District promotional banner on the left that reads "Enjoy our Beaches and Burgers". I know that things like this can creep into urban photos. I am not sure that this is optimum for a photo in this article.
That being said, my photo was taken casually as I walked down Geary Boulevard, and it inspired me to write this article. I do not want to "own" this article, and most certainly do not want any conflict with another editor who photographs the same subject so well. So, I leave the decision in your hands. I went back today and took another photo, this should solve most of it, except for the scaffolding (I chatted with a priest from the cathedral in a nearby cafe and the scaffolding should be gone in about 1.5 months, feel free to go back and take a new one then ;-)). --AlexanderKlink (talk) 19:20, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
