Thank you for using VisualEditor and sharing your ideas with the developers.

Hello, Chhandama,

The Editing team is asking very experienced editors like you for your help with VisualEditor. The team has a list of top-priority problems, but they also want to hear about small problems. These problems may make editing less fun, take too much of your time, or be as annoying as a paper cut. The Editing team wants to hear about and fix these small things, too.

You can share your thoughts by clicking this link. You may respond to this quick, simple, anonymous survey in your own language. If you take the survey, then you agree your responses may be used in accordance with these terms. This survey is powered by Qualtrics and their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy.

More information (including a translateable list of the questions) is posted on wiki at mw:VisualEditor/Survey 2015. If you have questions, or prefer to respond on-wiki, then please leave a message on the survey's talk page.

Atlanta manta[edit]

Hello, I ran into a reference to the "Atlanta manta" as a kind of manta ray in the first edit of Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve. I can't find such a creature and I'm wondering what your source was for that. Thanks,  SchreiberBike | ⌨  04:15, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for pointing out. The reference does say Atlanta Manta, but I do not know it either, so I deleted it. 03:09, 23 May 2015 (UTC) Chhandama (talk) 03:12, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Mizo Wikipedians[edit]

I reverted you here and here, per WP:User pages. How many other people did you add to this category without their permission? If you insist on re-adding this to User:Josephlalrinhlua786 or to any other user page I revert you on with regard to this because you added it without the user's permission, I will ask about this matter at WP:ANI. Mendel[edit]

Dear Friend,

This is a hobby for me and I have no wish to step on anyone's toes. This Mendel article needs a major revision, so your choice is this: Do you want a better article, or do you want to keep your article, no matter what? I really don't care, and will go with either choice, but I need to know.

Now, just to give you a short lesson in genetics. You don't cross yellow and green, because the dominant could be heterozygous. You are making a logical error here. You MUST specify that they are true-breeding. Otherwise the whole thing doesn't make sense and will lead to an experimental mess. If you read Mendel's biography (which I DID and you didn't), this point is critical. And yet you reverted to your mistaken version!

And: your explanation of the segregation law is incomprehensible. It so happened, if you read Carlson's History of the Gene (you should, before writing articles on Mendel) that Mendel's audience didn't understand what he was talking about. Your audience wouldn't understand either. You could use my corrections as a learning opportunity, but it takes a rare person to really search for truth, so I'll understand if you say no and work on something else (making sure I don't run into you again too).

So kindly let me know: Which is more important--your ego or the quality of this article?

I could of course contest this formally and definitely win, but have no wish to do so. Instead, I'll let you decide. If it's your ego, I'll of course drop my idea of revising your article.

Thank you! Brachney (talk) 22:31, 25 October 2015 (UTC)Brachney[reply]

I am sorry to hurt your feelings. But, before you give me a lesson in genetics, read the Wikipedia policies, such as MOS:JARGON and WP:TECHNICAL. In short, your erudition will be taken as too technical if you start using "crossed", "repeatable", etc. in place of common phrases/words which other people will find more understandable. And do know that everyone is welcome to make constructive edits. Chhandama (talk) 02:49, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

GMO Foods[edit]

Thank you for your edit. I was just in the process of writing you a note about your reversion of my edit when I noticed your addition. 70.197.16.200 (talk) 03:32, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome. Your edit was simply removal of sourced content. As the story has been a very serious scientific debate, I elaborated it with citations. Chhandama (talk) 03:48, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New + Testing[edit]

Hello! Thank you for your comments and information. I will have a look about proper citation. What I do, is that I tend to read the lastest news on molecular biology and find ways to enrich the wikipedia content.

Was the information provided too specific to be relevant ? How would I cite the information otherwise ? (source linked to text added).

Many Thanks.

Speedy deletion nomination of Yawarakan’s Cafe[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Yawarakan’s Cafe requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Pasteur page[edit]

I would have made the following modification myself had the page not been protected. I see that you recently modified the page; perhaps you can make the modification for me.

"In 1856 another German Ludersdorrf reported that yeasts were microorganisms that convert sugar into alcohol.[21]"

The German's name is misspelled. I'm almost certain that the man's full name is Friedrich Wilhelm Luedersdorff (with "ue" standing in for the German 'u' umlaut, a character I don't know how to insert in this note). The citation given ([21]) is of no help in identifying the man. V35b (talk) 02:28, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info, and you have already made a correct edit. And remember that you are fully entitled to edit thid kind of semi-potected page. Chhandama (talk) 02:30, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
