Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

Some question to the technically savvy guys who run this useful bot:

• Rather than revert vandalism seconds after it is done, would it be possible to have the software check edits before they are saved to the database, and reject them? Limited to the most obvious patterns, deleting 90+% of an article, adding expletives etc.
• Would it technically be possible to implement this "auto-censoring", or would that triple server load? (on the other hand, rejecting some edits would lower server load)
• Another possible feature could be to show the vandal the vandalised page, like a preview, but not marked as preview, in order to give him/her "instant gratification" which might satisfy them and make them stop, for now.

The effect of this would be, while article content is the same as if cluebot had reverted it, that the log files and watchlists are not clogged with these pointless ping-pong games. Of course, Wiki politics and philosophy is another issue ...-- Matthead  Discuß   20:25, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

No, I don't think that's quite possible- one of the 5 pillars of Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it, and that we assume good faith. Yes, I know about the policies, but I'd like to discuss the purely technical feasibility first. Anyway, as said before, article content would be the same after Cluebot has reverted, so it would be logical to skip the pointless save-and-revert steps. I wanted to personally thank you for taking part in the project-wide discussions regarding my candidacy for bureaucratship. After bureaucratic discussion, the bureaucrats decided that there was sufficient significant and varied opposition to my candidacy, and thus no consensus to promote, so instead of "Yes Please" the community decided "No, Thank You". Although personally disappointed, I both understand and respect their decision, especially in light of historical conservatism the project has had when selecting its bureaucrats. If you have any further suggestions or comments as to how you think I could help the project, please let me know. Cobi, there's been talk about trying to get a bot at WP:HAU that can indicate in real-time whether a user is online. You're the first guy I thought of who could possibly make this a reality. Is this something you can do / want to do / are willing to do? Is there already a bot in existence that can do it? I'm not sure what red tape exists, if any, like a bot proposal or something, but if there is, just let me know the procedure and I'll do what I can to take care of the bureaucratic side of it. Yes, just something that would indicate online/offline in a table. I've tried using StatusBot on my own page as a test, but I couldn't even get it to indicate if I was online or not. Is there a way you could implement StatusBot at HAU? If that could be inserted into the "Details" tables (the hidden ones), then there would be no need for the "Schedule" tables (the ones with the checkmarks), and the project would be much more helpful if the info was in real-time. Yes, I've been a very vocal opposer of your past RFAs, and I've actually had your 4th RFA watchlisted for a while now. Going through your stats and contribs, I think there only a couple things I want to see and then I'll support. 1) You have edited a couple of articles 7 times, but no article more than 7 times. Find an article and edit it 20 times. If you have trouble finding an article that you think you can do that to, let me know some topics that interest you and I'll find you a page that needs a lot of cleanup. 2) Your last 500 mainspace contribs goes back to 2007. Make that not so. And please don't do it all with reverts, try to get a bunch of edits like the ones you did on March 7-10, March 30, and April 23. 3) Not a big deal, but don't use edit summaries like the ones you used on April 23, it makes you seem more bot-like using that kind of formatting. I'm just letting you know, ClueBot warned me for this edit, claiming there are "obsenities" in it, I was only adding a 'references' and 'external' links sections. Hi Cobi. I was wondering if you could do something about Cluebot creating new month headers when one already exists. Not only does it mask the frequency of recent vandalism from an account/IP, but it also seems to confuse the other bots and the scripts; an example of this can be seen here. Ok, I know this is a stupid question, but over at the Mario Wiki, we had a really bad vandal. I don't need your help making a bot, but I do need to know where I input the commands on the wiki for the bot to edit.
