Speedy deletion nomination of Novim[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Novim requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ♛♚★Vaibhav Jain★♚♛ Talk Email 18:21, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

November 2011[edit]

Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses, such as you did in the article Novim. Wikipedia is not the "Yellow Pages". If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets, such as Wikia's Yellowikis. Thank you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 18:22, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your only warning; if you insert a spam link to Wikipedia again, as you did at Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 18:24, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Novim, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

Copy of message left on talk page of Novim[edit]

The policy WP:COI, which I hope you have by now read, does not forbid editing of subjects close to the editor, but it does state that this is not a good idea. I have removed the tag, but replaced it with a more correct one. I would advise you that Wikipedia editors and admins do not take kindly to peremptory instructions to 'remove restrictions'. I would ask you to read WP:SPAM and WP:NPOV (neutral point of view). In addition, WP:RS is required reading as without independent reliable sources to show that your organisation meets WP:CORP or similar, your article has no chance of returning. I haven't deleted it out of hand - as I could have done on the grounds of advertising - but am leaving that choice to another administrator. Not every organisation gets an article here, no matter who is in charge of it or what it does. Wikipedia is free to edit, but there are rules and policies. Please take time to read them.
