Happy New Year, Hmlarson! In Japan, All-Japan Womwn's Youth (U-22) Championship is being held in Osaka since yesterday. The wind is blowing hard & it's so cold, but many a young player shows their technique & fighting spirit. I'll take photos & upload on Wikimedia Commons if possible.
There is a sad report that the popularity of women's foot is becoming smaller & smaller in Japan, but I hope that more and more people could get a chance to come and watch the matches, and care about the clubs and players. Thank you and best regards :) --Ohtani tanya (talk) 02:19, 4 January 2014 (UTC) (My talk page in JAWP)
On 5 January 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Estelle Ramey, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Estelle Ramey's name was formalized so that she could go to school? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Estelle Ramey. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

I tried contacting the administrator who had deleted the pages for Maya Hayes, Kealia Ohai, and Vanessa DiBernardo (see the discussion here), and he suggested to "ask the Football project how they prefer to handle this". I don't really know what that means. But I was hoping you'd know what to do next. I just don't want someone to (have to or unknowingly) recreate those pages from scratch. Hey. I know goalball is not your sport, but I'm slow motion working on all the articles in this category. At the moment, I am stuffing the history of the team's competition and scoring history into the articles. (Hence the prose is kind of crappy.) Once done, I plan go back, find filler information about player backgrounds, background details on the team history, etc. I'd like to get the whole pile up to B status (possibly GA) in the next few months. If you have time, can you keep an eye on them and fact check them to make sure the sources and text match? Fix any obvious typos? That would be really helpful. Thanks. --LauraHale (talk) 18:36, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Belatedly, I wanted to congratulate on your successful Good Article nomination of the Abby Wambach article. As a three-time graduate of the University of Florida, she is a subject near and dear to my heart -- a subject that was clearly deserving of the hard work that you so obviously dedicated to improving the article. I have been mostly inactive over the past year, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover the vastly improved content of Abby's article. I wish I had been around to help! Cheers. You very kindly agreed to comment on my proposal re Rachel. Below is my first draft of the section I propose to put into the PFA article.

United States women's national under-17 soccer team
Hmlarson, you appear to be one of the more reliable and experienced editors of women's soccer/football material on Wikipedia, so I'm hoping you'll be able to guide me through some trouble I'm having keeping the USWNT U-17 page accurate. A user, Markofwalburgh, has been continually editing the roster of the team to include a 'Marisol Guerrero' in place of various players, despite my (and other) attempts to keep the roster listed as it is by US Soccer. After several times reverting the edits, I posted the following on their 'talk' page, but do not know what to do about getting them to stop or cite their changes if they do not cede to my request. Please advise.
In regards to your recent edits replacing Gabriella Carreiro with Marisol Guerrero on the team, you need to cite your source if we are to accept it. Also, due to the lack of media attention to the U-17 receives and the relatively few number of matches they play, the Wikipedia page doesn't update the roster for every camp they have and typically has left the listed roster from the previous World Cup or CONCACAF Championship tournament, which is why many of the names listed are not currently on the team as they have presumably moved up to the U-20 level. US Soccer lists in several locations that Gabriella Carreiro was on that roster and that Marisol Guerrero was not.[1]
If you would like to keep the roster current, please feel free to do so responsibly. US Soccer gives the roster for a tournament about a month ago; however, it does not list Marisol Guerrero on it[2] and neither does the camp invites listed back in January[3] or June.[4] If you have a credible source that says otherwise, please share it.
Thank you for the help. - Golfingwino (talk · contribs)
