Thanks for your prompt response. Can you explain further? I assume that it is an IP address issue rather than an issue with my edits. With the block, I struggle to edit (i.e. I have to edit at work or have to switch to the slower GPRS rather than faster UMTS connection to bypass the block). If it’s my edits then please explain else I hope the range block can be alter to allow me to edit as it slowing my edits. Jniech (talk) 14:44, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
I use two machines (home and work) and can switch connection types at home. Initially was at home either able to edit straight away or second time I connected but today it took multiple attempts. I assume I need to keep trying until I get an IP address which is not blocked. Hence if anything can be done to allow me to edit without having to waste time logging in and out then that would be much appreciated. Jniech (talk) 17:38, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. For now I am recording the changes I want to do in a word file and hope to do them tomorrow at work. Jniech (talk) 21:44, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.
Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.
Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this newly-granted right to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a serious concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.
I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. -- Avi (talk) 20:36, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for update. Currently at work but will do some editing tonight to check. Jniech (talk) 08:56, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
To the three of you who have helped please accept my thanks as I can again edit at home apparently without issue. I am not sure what the etiquette is but I won’t put thanks on your talk pages as I assume you are busy. If anyone reads this and thinks I should put thanks then say, I am grateful but do not want to waste busy editors/administrators time. Jniech (talk) 19:03, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Great work on the World War II crimes in Poland article! Nsk92 (talk) 16:47, 26 November 2008 (UTC) |
Thanks. Not sure what this fully means but I will look it up soon. As to World War II crimes in Poland, I have taken sometime off. That does not mean I have forgotten it. Currently I am using my reading to reference up Józef Beck. I hope to make major contributions again to World War II crimes in Poland by end of December. Jniech (talk) 20:04, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Don't forget to categorize the categories, and that they should not contain capital words per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (categories) - I've suggested speedy renamings for them.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:28, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations. Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland has reviewed your contributions and decided you are an active member. Thank you for your encyclopedic contributions! But creating content by yourself is only part of the collaborative Wikipedia user experience, there is an active community of editors discussing how to better improve the Poland-related content; please consider joining our discussions at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Poland. There are many editors who would like to work more closely with you, benefit from your insight, and help you with their experience! PS. Please also consider editing your entry in our participants list to state your areas of expertise/interest. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 19:04, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
I note that you have requested a citation for the statement regarding Fry. What exactly are you disputing here? That Auschwitz was on the German side of the border and now is in Poland? Varsovian (talk) 15:45, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
The article currently claims on a “purely linguistic viewpoint, Fry was entirely correct”. Who is making this claim? The four links in the article do not appear to support this claim and Fry recent apology make it clear this was not what he meant by his original statement. Jniech (talk) 20:11, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
That's a difficult one. we don't normally like to block IPs for long unless they are clearly static, e.g. WHOIS shows a school; and short blocks don't have much effect on someone who only comes at intervals. It may be that the evidence of targetting the same kind of article would be considered enough evidence of a static IP to allow a long block - I would have to take advice from someone more experienced. Often the best thing is just to revert, go back through the contributions to revert any that obviously need it, and have another look from time to time to see what he's been up to. If you see a recent instance, of course, add an appropriate warning to the talk page, but there is no point adding warnings for things done more than a few days ago. WP:VANDALISM is the general guide. In general, WP:AIV is not interested unless there is recent vandalism, either after a final warning or very gross: a case like this, vandalism not serious or recent enough for AIV but steady and continuous enough to be worrying, you could post at the admins' incident board, WP:ANI. I will look into this one when I get time (guiltily aware that there is a similar case well up my talk page which I have not got round to). Thanks for raising it. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 22:42, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi, Jniech. I was surprised that the following articles were not part of WikiProject Poland so I have added them myself: Gniezno Cathedral, Płock Cathedral, Cathedral of Christ the King, Katowice, Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist, Toruń, St. Mary's Cathedral, Gorzów Wielkopolski, St. Nicholas Cathedral, Elbląg, Cathedral Basilica of St. James the Apostle, Szczecin, Basilica of Our Lady of Licheń, Collegiate church in Tum. I am not sure how they should be rated on the importance scale. Gniezno Cathedral should be at least high but other I don't know. What's your opinion? Dr. Loosmark 14:13, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus did a number of tasks. which did not involved editing the content of articles such DYK, recruiting new members to Wiki Poland and tidying up articles. I offered prior to him being banned to cover some of what he did in these areas.
Having done this for almost a couple of months I have encountered a number of issues. Many could be dealt with via the usual channels if I knew what they were. It would be very useful to have someone to help especially if they have excellent knowledge of Wiki Poland Project.
I have previously asked a editor if it would break Wikipedia rules/Piotrus ban by discussing with him issues (e.g. copyright infringements, putting importance and quality of an article in relation to Wiki Poland Project). As I got no reply, I am asking here. Can I communicate with Piotr over these matters? It would be good if this could be done on Wikipedia (e.g.my talk page), so everyone could see the exchanges encase anyone thinks this is a way to bypass the editing of articles ban.
Further I can ask if Piotrus could be allowed to do DYK himself or at least allow him to point out to me articles worth nominating. These require approval and are useful tasks for Wikipedia which currently I am reluctant to take up without assistance. Jniech (talk) 13:08, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Further I can ask if Piotrus could be allowed to do DYK himself or at least allow him to point out to me articles worth nominating with a valid DYK. These require approval and are useful tasks for Wikipedia which currently I am reluctant to take up without assistance.
Comment: Thanks for your comments. I agree with Malik Shabazz that is worth asking as I don’t want to get into trouble myself.
As to Angus McLellan offer of help, thank you. Can I ask you to explain what you would do but ideally allow me to do it about this article De Fire Årstider I Nordvest as I need the experience.
Further what do you make of Danuta Hübner? Compared it to [3] and especially [4]. Is this a copyright issue? If maybe/yes then what is the best step? Check whether permission exists or tag the page or other action. Thanks in advance. Jniech (talk) 16:04, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, it is undoubtedly a huge shock, especially for the Polish who have became familiar with the president and the top ministers every day on the TV and newspapers. I can't even begin to imagine what would happen over here if Gordon Brown and his cabinet died in a plane crash in such tragic circumstances. Its the sort of thing that occasionally happened in African history but not to a country like Poland. Dr. Blofeld White cat 20:08, 10 April 2010 (UTC)
Hi Jniech,
You had requested that someone fix the issue of your text flowing between images added by Schrandit in the page, Talk:World War II crimes in Poland.
I think that my edit has fixed it. I added a ((Clear)) template, which tells browsers to add vertical space until the following text clears all floating images.

We are doing another activity check on members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland. I've noticed that you have not been active in the Poland-related articles in the past few months (we define it as doing 10 or more Poland-related edits per month in the last three months period), and as such I took the liberty to adjust your position in our Participants list from active to semi-active. Please note that this is just a method of keeping track of how many editors are currently active on Poland-related topics. Feel free to move yourself back if you disagree with this, and/or comment on WT:POLAND. In case you are not aware of that, our project has many active discussions on its talk page, we also list Poland-related article news (hee), Poland-related new articles for review (hee), Poland-related articles in need of cleanup (here), a listing of most popula Poland-related articles (here), a portal (here), and other tools. If the activity incrases, we would like to implement other tools, such as project A-class reviews and a newsletter. We are looking forward to seeing you around more often! Take care, --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:30, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
WikiProject Poland Newsletter • April 2011
For our freedom and yours Welcome to our first issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; in this year alone about 40 threads have been started on our discussion page, and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools! With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself? Hello, I am the lead sysop on the Liverpool F.C. wiki. It is a wiki dedicated solely to Liverpool F.C.. We aim to make the ultimate database for the club we all love. Since adopting the incredibly inactive wiki about a month ago we have greatly increased the article count and modernized it from it's previous state. The problem is there are not many active members on the site and we need more for the site to properly grow. It is well organized and on it's way to be a great site we just need more editors to expand. It is based on Wikia's network of wikis. Like Wikipedia it is free to use and the editing process is exactly the same. If you know how to edit Wikipedia you will know how to edit the Liverpool F.C. wiki. Now for the question you may be asking yourself. Why edit there? Wikipedia has articles on Liverpool. This is true. At the Liverpool wiki it is all about Liverpool. We allow editors to edit anything about Liverpool no matter how trivial. We allow edits on reserve and academy players, and even things as trivial as the fitness coaches for the year 2011. We also do not lock pages to registered users. That means if you have something to say about Steven Gerrard you can click edit and not view source and actually write something. I would love for you to come by and check the wiki out. Feel free to edit any page. Every time you click edit your ARE helping this wiki grow. Thanks for taking the time to read this! http://liverpoolfc.wikia.com/wiki/Liverpool_FC_Wiki --Coffeeclub213 (talk) 17:30, 14 June 2011 (UTC)

For our freedom and yours Welcome to the second issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; we get close to a hundred discussion threads each year and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. Last year we were featured in the Signpost, and our interviewer was amazed at our activity. In the end, however, even as active as we are, we are just a tiny group - you can easily become one of our core members! In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools!
It took me three years to finish this issue. Feel free to help out getting the next one before 2017 by being more active in WikiProject management :) You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a member at WikiProject Poland. |

Sending you a heartfelt and warm greetings for Christmas and New Year 2015. Spread the love by adding ((subst:Seasonal Greetings)) to other user talk pages. |
Not much has changed, you'll do fine. See Wikipedia:Policies for the usual list. A good place to ask questions is the Wikipedia:Teahouse, a very friendly forum. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 11:52, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:13, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
