For all the work. I know I just gave you a 'standard' barnstar, but I can't think of anyone who deserves the first project barnstar than you! —ScouterSig 15:59, 29 November 2007 (UTC) |

You are correct that prods cannot be put back once they have been removed. However, I cannot imagine that some the articles on the individual members of Alpha Kappa Alpha will be found notable at AfD unless more information is provided. There has to be some source for their individual notability, each one of them. If you c an find anything about their respective careers, please add it--I think being a faculty member at a college may possibly do it, if you emphasize he pioneer nature of their careers there. Teaching alone has not in the past been sufficient unless shown by award from more than just the university level. For the ones who were high schools teachers, you will probably need something specially distinctive--it has proven very difficult to get such articles accepted--recognition at at least a state level is necessary, and preferably national.
I agree that founders of organizations are notable, the majority of founders have done other notable things i.e. Ernest Everett Just one of the founders of Omega Psi Phi. The founding of some organizations have made an impact to society and American history as well, therefore their founders should be considered notable too. Knicksfan4ever 14:20, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Hello Miranda, I thought you should be aware that User:Gurch has been redirecting your userpage away from your talk page and towards various Miranda articles, as in Miranda warning, Miranda (W.I.T.C.H.), Miranda!, Miranda class starship, and Miranda railway station, Sydney. Out of respect for Gurch's prior contributions, I've only asked him why he doing this, rather than mention this at WP:ANI or WP:AIV. I don't know if this is due to some inside joke, or out of malice, but it is certainly odd behaviour. --Kyoko 15:06, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I noticed that you recreated a userfied version of this article whose deletion was endorsed at deletion review. I checked the article and it seems substantially identical, so it cannot be kept. I have moved it back to your userspace User:Miranda/Lizz Robbins because of your good-faith effors to improve the article. I acknowledge that you did a very nice job in cleaning up the article, but the article still suffers from the same problems of notability that led to it being deleted (and that deletion being endorsed) in the first place. If I have missed a substantial addition of verifiable references, please let me know. Best, IronGargoyle (talk) 21:44, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for taking a stab at it. I still don't understand the notability issue when compared to other models in the same field [3] on here, but guess I never will. For the record great job on all of your contributions that you worked very hard on, I can say with my short time being on here, I truly recognize your efforts, if there is ever anything I can assist you with if you do decide to continue to contribute let me knowKnicksfan4ever (talk) 02:27, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

It would be interesting to do an article about the overall topic of African American sororities, what they meant to women's success in college, the job market and communities. There appears to be quite a bit of academic study of this topic recently, as people recognize the importance of building networks and social capital. --Parkwells (talk) 16:19, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Question for you. I saw on one of the discussions you mentioned Wiki, do you think that article can be added there? Since it doesn't seem like it will be able to be back on here anytime soon, well possibly early next year with some pending projects (fingers crossed). I've completed the first reworking of the Founders articles, based on your materials - mostly rewriting the leads to stress later accomplishment and trying to emphasize some of each individual's career achievements, which are needed for separate article notability. There are a few that probably won't make separate articles, but I think most will, as the women were wonderfully accomplished. Now I'm going to try to get them as consistent as possible and look for some more sources, too.
Have come across some interesting info about the status of M Street/Dunbar High School, the only academic high school in DC for African Americans in those years. It was a place of such high standards that students went there from other cities. The teachers were very highly qualified, and as they were Federal employees then, they were paid on the same scale as white teachers.
It's easy to get some sense of how these women were living a great social change, as an unusually high proportion of the 20 founders did not appear to marry or have children. They were living big public lives, and it's not always easy to do both. It's like the pattern of women who came of age in the first years of the 1960s-1970s women's movement. About one-third did not have children. Later women have managed both to work in new fields and have children.--Parkwells (talk) 21:14, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Miranda I was checking the history summary on DST page and I was wondering who deleted information from the DST article. Some of the information on on DST Homeownership Program I wrote. I am not claiming ownership, but I wrote it according to this sites standards. Do you know what the problem was. Thanks. HistoricDST (talk) 02:24, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
You recently removed a good portion of a comment I made about the issue that caused Defender911's indefblock, saying that I provided too much information. I don't think I did.. my comment had no specifics about the user or his attempts to contact him. Just that I had grave doubts about unblocking someone who continued to try to contact someone who A) had been harassed off of WP due to RL information, and B) Had made it clear they didn't want to be contacted. Just looking to see why you modified my comment, no big deal. SirFozzie (talk) 06:44, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Dear Miranda,
I accept your apology, and I would like to apologize to you for overreacting. I'm not going to give you any "advice" on how to work on Wikipedia. You are just as capable as I am of finding and reading the policy statements and guidelines.
I hope this lowers your level of stress as much as it does for me, if not more. Let me add that I did not understand that your userbox was using the term "babysitter" to refer to "administrator." This means that I was not curious enough about you to click on the userbox. Maybe it would also help you to know that I have not looked at a single one of the stub articles you list on your userpage (other than the one that started this whole thing). I am not watching your userpage, and I would ask that you not watch mine.
You may also be interested to know that of the fifty or sixty articles I tagged for speedy deletion in the last few days, only five are still on Wikipedia. Of those five, only one caused me stress, and I hope this chapter is now closed - for both of us.
Peace. Have a great holiday season. Cbdorsett (talk) 10:17, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Miranda, sorry for not responding sooner. I looked on Google books and the only thing I could find was a small blurb in Baird's Guide to American Fraternities. It basically stated when and where it was founded. I am not sure how else to reference this article. Also, you put in a need for copyediting. What specifically needs copyediting. I put in a request for that to happen, but I did not know the details. Thanks Storkpkp (talk) 16:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the kind words. I've been meaning for such a long time to get my hands on this article, and it's starting to look good now. I'm confused, where did that come from? I didn't ask you to write one for me. Let me know what you are referring to. The one you edited you did on your own, which I appreciated. As of now, I'm done with that, until someone feels they want to expand, etc. Knicksfan4ever 17:49, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey. I was wondering why you delisted the aforementioned article? You claimed cites and grammar, but there are no ((fact)) tags, and the grammar appears good. Given how favorable the GA review was, you should have brought up what was needed, rather than outright delisting it. --♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 03:32, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, I just thought I'd ask your help for this matter about the Victoria Beckham article. What do you think about this being in the article:
"Beckham seems keen for the public to forget her solo music career, going so far as to have her biography on the Official Spice Girls webpage contain no information whatsoever on the history of her solo music career [1], and being the only member of the Spice Girls to not perform a solo song on The Return of the Spice Girls Tour, instead doing a makeshift catwalk and pose in the style of a fashion show. [2]"
I've removed the paragraph once, but the user who wrote it has put it back. I'm of the opinion that it's a POV as it states "seems". I don't know, I just feel that it's not the right tone for the article. I think it's the fact that she just wants to move on, rather than forget her solo career. Would be good to have your opinion. Many thanks. Eagle Owl (talk) 14:23, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
