Speedy deletion nomination of User:Josen.llave[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Josen.llave, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. EvergreenFir (talk) 04:19, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because: I removed the link to my Facebook Page. If there's anything else I can do to be in compliance, please let me know. Thanks! --Josen.llave (talk) 04:25, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Raise Your Weapon (Novel)[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Raise Your Weapon (Novel) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from https://www.facebook.com/raiseyourweaponnovel. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 04:33, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Self-promotion on Wikipedia[edit]

I've come to explain the reasons for the article deletions. The first reason people tagged the pages was because they were seen as promotional in nature. This might not have been your attempt, but linking to a website is usually seen as promotional.

However there were other issues. First is that you copied the material directly from your facebook account page. Even though you are the author, this is seen as WP:COPYVIO and can't remain on Wikipedia. The other problem is that even if you re-wrote everything, the books aren't notable yet. They haven't been published and neither you nor the works seem to have received coverage in reliable sources to show that they merit a page at this point in time. Wikipedia isn't a place to post about things that you're planning to do or have done yet, not unless they've received a lot of coverage in reliable sources. (WP:RS) That might come across as a bit harsh, but it's just too soon for you to add yourself to Wikipedia right now.

Does that mean that you can't edit? No, you can but I would recommend that you not write about yourself. I would also recommend that you not put a lot of information about your books or yourself on your userpage. While there is some freedom to what you can post there, the primary purpose of being on Wikipedia is to write about other things. You can put a little bit about yourself but you shouldn't be using the page to repost huge information about yourself like you did previously. Mostly when people create their userpages they use it to post information about themselves as it pertains to editing Wikipedia, but you do have people posting humorous userboxes about themselves. User:Flat Out is a good example of what you can do with a userpage, as is User:slakr.

I hope that none of this discourages you from editing as a whole, though. I just thought it'd probably be a good idea to explain things a little better than just having the deletion templates pop up on your talk page. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:03, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tokyogirl! Thanks for informing me in a very positive way. I greatly appreciate it. Yeah... I was kinda rushing in fear of losing my title even though there's plenty of assurance that if I already have a Facebook page, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act stated that it's already protected. That was my reason for going onto Wiki and dumping the info on here. But since I'm still working on the novel, I should wait until I'm done with publishing the first novel. I can't help but to rush though lol. Too much excitement. In 2008, I had a title for a draft called "Life in Her Eyes," and unfortunately that title was used that same year. But I think I'm good with my title. I'm going to have to get used to using wiki code if I want to make my page look good when it's done.
