After looking at the Aravind L. Iyer page and doing a bit a searching, I feel like he fails to meet the academic notability guidelines. He's published various things and holds a position in a notable group, but he himself doesn't seem to pass the bar. It probably is a page that should be subject to an AFD. If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

• make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
• Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that.
