That wasn't even me. I left the computer for a few seconds and a buddy of mine thought it would be funny to edit the title of the article. He failed to edit it, so I tried to show him how to. Then realised, I didn't know how to edit titles either anyway. Dali 15:41, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
We disagree -- I'm not sure I understand the rule that says a) we 'have to place the image at the top of the article, and b) that we don't need consensus from editors in order to do so. Would sure love to see these WP rules if you've got access to them. Peace, BYT 21:57, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, sorry if it's unsuitable. The truth is that I was one of the persons involved in that creepy incident. I tried so hard to find official sources for that story, but no one is willing to let out info about it. The only true "evidence" I have is that newspaper clipping. I guess it's some sort of taboo :P Please, go ahead and delete it. I'll be more careful in the future. Usually, I don't create new pages, I like to update existing ones.

I will admit that this is likely a political minefield. However, I'm hoping that i can write the article in such a fashion as to thoroughly convey *both* sides of the spectrum, and cut way down on revenge edits. Granted, the fandom is full of immature people; but here's to hoping. (if it does take off despite my best efforts to maintain fairness, then i'll have no objections to pulling the plug.) Thanks! I noticed on the recent TfD you said "This is a very useful template, if for nothing else to use as a subst: starting point for people making their own personalized welcome templates." I'd like to make my own version of the welcome template - specifically, I think six links at once is overwhelming, so would like to add a brief description of each one's use and emphasise that they can always ask me or someone else instead of scouring them - but are personalized welcome templates allowed in template space - I've already made the mistake of creating an inappropriate template fork - or do they have to be copied and pasted from outside? I notice there are already 4 different wordings of the welcome message. --Malthusian (talk) 15:19, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

to tell the trutj I found some minutes ago your english page for deletion, but I still havent found "your votation page".
My tiny problem is that they are voting for deleting Parthenofobia that in the italian wiki si written so:
In Psicologia, la Parthenofobia è(is) una(an) anomala(not normal) e(and) persistente paura (fear) delle(of) vergini o delle ragazze(girls) giovani(young).
Somebody says the reason for deleting is "WND" Wikipedia is not a dictionary (used when there are short description)
My Humble Opinion is that in english it is just an essential (shorter than italian) "In psychology, Parthenophobia refers to an abnormal and persistent fear of virgins or young girls." And NObody has nothing to say. ;) Thus the english wiki is better and more free.
I'm angry because you can still have all your articles and nobody runs to delete interesting pages that in italy can't resist "5 minutes".
I stop myself. and it is better so. I'm not so free to speak in our "italian pages". Goodbye.. and goodnight (here 21.55) --Fragolino75 21:03, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Looks fine. I noticed that in most places it says 32 passengers but one says 33. The specification box says 30-33. Not sure how to deal with that.
While not a part of that article, I wonder if it is worthw creating an article on FairchildDornier. Fairchild Dornier redirects to Fairchild which does not really say much about the new company except that it was taken over by Dornier GmbH. Dornier Flugzeugwerke, the redirect from Dornier GmbH says it was taken over by Fairchild. Both of those statements can not be true.

hello, its interesting to me that many Delete voters seem to view Wikipedia as a scare resource (credibility, space?). I am new to this stuff, and have read the Deletion guidelines, and understand the New Research point, and also the Not a Newspapaer point. Its the emotion of "scarcity" I read in the posts. Curious about that in a form that philosophically thrives on "abundance & collaboration". Practical question: looking at PFC article at its worst (promotion), how big a problem is this on Wikipedia? Thanks for any responses.--dr elys jimenez 04:54, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
I too am from Bath (and before that, Chippenham), though I now live in Melbourne. I do like your user name, as I am a huge fan of Malthus. I hope you find the following of interest. If not, please ignore me and delete it.
My interest in Malthus lies less in his theories on economics, and more in his Principle of Population. I have an entire website devoted to exploring Malthus' theory:
http://members.optusnet.com.au/exponentialist/index.htm
There are two basic problems with Malthus' theory, and they are both mathematical:
1. He proposes "geometric growth" (exponential growth) as a universal law of population growth for all species (not just Mankind, as most people suppose), yet he then argues that food grows "arithmetically" (linear growth). This is a logical contradiction, as all food grows in populations! Thus, the simplest "correction" of the Malthusian universal law of population growth is to assume that all populations of all species are subject to "geometric growth". Any mismatches between population and food supply can then be seen as mismatches in food production and food consumption.
2. However, if exponential growth requires a constant rate of growth (and all definitions say that it does) then it is clear that no population of any species ever grows exponentially. The proof is simple, as any population of any size would fairly rapidly outweigh the Earth in a very short timeframe if subject to any positive rate of exponential growth. Thus, all exponential growth for all species is only ever temporary.
The idea that populations grow exponentially (at a constant rate) is on the one hand recognised as true by scientists from all fields (Dawkins, Hawkings, Sagan, Asimov, Clarke, Mayr, Albert Bartlett, K. Eric Drexler, Marshall T Savage etc) and on the hand hand rejected as naive, or only an approoximate universal law of nature (Dawkins again, Cohen, James Trefil, Julian Simon, Bjorn Lomborg, Michael Kelly etc).
The solution is simple. The current Malthusian Growth Model is based on fixed rate compound interest (= constant rate exponential growth). However, variable rate compound interest is just as powerful. It turns out that all populations of all species (and thus food too) grow via variable rate compound interest.
Oddly, rather than see this a a growth model in its own right, scientists leap from one failed growth model (the Malthusian) to another - the Logistic Growth Model (which has failed repeatedly).
To understand how populations behave when subject to a variable rate compound interest growth model, imagine some weighing scales. Now read my Scales of 70 and my Scales of e.
http://members.optusnet.com.au/exponentialist/The_Scales_Of_70.htm
http://members.optusnet.com.au/exponentialist/The_Scales_Of_e.htm
The former is an approximation of how populations halve and double, whilst the latter is a true universal law of nature that accurately explains how populations halve and double.
The idea that populations grow via temporary periods of exponential growth, all strung together, now makes perfect sense. Take our global population, for example. Each year represents a temporary period of constant rate exponential growth. Yet take a century of such growth (at varying rates) and it cannot strictly be said to be growing exponentially. This is clearly a logical contradiction, as each year the population is growing exponentially!
Thus, if all exponential growth (at a constant rate) is only ever temporary, that is the same as saying that all exponential growth is a result of variable rates of growth.
As an economist, you might prefer my articles exposing errors in the use of the exponential method by the OECD, the World Bank, and the US Census Bureau:

David Coutts - The Exponentialist (the New Malthusian)
Hi Last Malthusian, I've promised User:Trebor27trebor to help him turn the red links in this very good article into blue links. That's pretty much the only thing that's keeping the article from having a chance at becoming a FAC. I've asked him to list the needed articles on the Sanssouci Talk page so that we can share the work. He's completed the list and I thought it would be terrific if you'd decide to take part in the effort and help us with one or two of them. What do you say? --Mmounties (Talk) 04:54, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
I changed the stub because the old one reinforced the peculiar notion that the article used to contain that "short list" was a political term. Well, in that case so are "lie", "cheat", "bribe", etc., as those are also used in political contexts — but it would be odd to tag those as politics stubs. I can't find a correct stub, hence my unusual course of the plain ((stub)). If you know of a stub for something with such a wide range of uses as "short list", that would be great. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:48, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
I never stated that Richter's promises are true, if you look at Talk:Ronald Richter you'll quickly discover why I'm reverting changes. --OneEuropeanHeart 00:25, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for changing the stub. I looked through the list of Canadian stubs (for sports, curling etc) but I couldn't find anything that fit, so I just left it as a generic stub.--Anchoress 02:09, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Hey, after that abortive AfD, I've decided to be a little more systematic. Here's a list of every stub I originally lumped in the batch AfD. I'm going through them one at a time. As you do seem to have some interest in these stubs, I thought you would appreciate the heads up. ;) Proto||type 14:13, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
