Hi Spangineer. I'm spending a lot of time and even money to explain what's going on (see Talk:Disputed status of Gibraltar. I expect a strong position on how Gibraltarian must play from now on. I do know that he won't provide any source but the usual crap of qualifying me as a troll, fascist and so on, but as long as I'm playing by the very wikipedia rules, I'm expecting some "protection" from the administrators. I've seen that your Request for Comments has gone nowhere, so that I'm just waiting your instructions on how to proceed (arbitration, for instance?). Best regards --Ecemaml 13:22, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
Hi Spangineer. I'm finishing my request for arbitration. I'm planning to post it by tomorrow. Best regards --Ecemaml 20:14, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi. Ive been trying to improve on the Céline Dion article, incorporating many of your suggestions. Could you take a look (please) and maybe offer advice and comments on Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Céline Dion? Thanks in advance. Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 04:29, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Gibraltarian is requesting unprotection (again). What do you think? I'm not unprotecting it until you say so. If you don't feel like it's ready, we'll keep it protected. Gibraltarian used the *Exact* same language he did last time when he requested unprotection. That bugs me a little. --Woohookitty(cat scratches) 16:48, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Can you look over the article and tell me if your concerns have been met? Thanks. Pentawing 02:41, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
I've left some comments on the peer review page. As for the retrograde link, what you changed it to is correct. It has little to do with prograde and retrograde orbital motion. Evil Monkey - Hello 23:37, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
Yeah, Ill be needing those sources. However, I wont be able to work on the article until the middle of next week→ work and school are tedious. Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 03:26, 4 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi, Spangineer. Gibraltarian, now anonymously (212.120.229.182) has removed again the ((disputed)) template from both History of Gibraltar and Disputed status of Gibraltar. I don't want to enter again in an edit war so this this message is just for your information. Best regards --Ecemaml 17:02, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
I noticed that on Talk:Céline Dion, you collected quotes from reviews of Dion's work from ProQuest and left a list of them on the talk page. I was wondering if you could do the same for Mariah Carey? It would be extremely helpful to the article, as currently it relies a little too much on reviews from the website All Music Guide. Searching on ProQuest has been recommended to me before (see Wikipedia:Peer review/Robert Clark (actor)/archive1) for finding print references, but since I don't live in the United States, I don't have access to it. I will be eternally grateful if you could do this! Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 19:18, 6 December 2005 (UTC)
Thank you so much! The quotes you found will help improve the article, as well as the relevant album and single articles. Thank you once again! If you need any help with anything, just ask me on my talk page. Thanks! Extraordinary Machine 18:47, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article electroslag welding, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page. |
I notice you're a fairly active on Mexico-related articles. I don't know if you know anything about Mexican-American topics, but some of us are putting together a Wikiproject and you might want to check it out. You can see the discussion on my userpage.--Rockero420 16:46, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
After some editing Portugal from the Restoration to the 1755 Earthquake (now moved to History of Portugal (1578-1777) as considerably improved. If you want go there and vote. Thanks. Gameiro 22:45, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
That's a great image you added to electroslag welding. I know they take awhile to draw up, but do you accept image requests for other welding methods?
Thanks for calculating the accuracy of my article count study. I've incorporated your chart into my subpage (it hasn't been updated to the wikipediaology page, at least not yet). I added some other new info as well. -R. fiend 19:15, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
I've completed most of the requests in your post for the Dinosaur FAC. Is this criteria for a change of vote? Maybe a neutral vote? It would be greatly appreciated, as I would not want to see it fail a second time after all the work I've done... Thanks, Spawn Man 01:16, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
Hello Spangineer,
That article is pretty good! I made a couple minor changes and added a section on just why GTAW is so hard. The article does lack significantly in one place and I'm not quite sure where this would be worked in: the "cleaning action" required for good quality aluminum welds. I see some light details on this process but to me it is one of the most fascinating aspects of GTAW. There is mention that the gas ions only travel towards the negative electrode but no mention that the oxides are removed when the gas ions physically smack into them. A good GTAW machine will support waveform shaping on AC which lets the operator dial in the amount of time spent in the DCEN and DCEP phase, striking a balance between cleaning action and penetration. I'd work that all in there myself but I don't want to destroy the flow and great prose of the article. Let me know if you have any other questions. Triddle 00:56, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
I have written an article on Barry Wood (cricketer). If, as appears likely, the current article on Barry Wood is deleted, I would like to move the article on the cricketer to the Barry Wood namespace as most of the links are for him anyway. Capitalistroadster 10:06, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

I was wondering if you are game for starting a wikiproject engineering. I started Wikipedia:WikiProject Mechanics, which might be of interest to you. I don't know whether there are many engineers around here, but it seems technology here has come to exculsively mean information technology. deeptrivia (talk) 05:30, 18 December 2005 (UTC)
Hello,
I am impressed with your wiki skills. I have about 10 wikis that are desperately in need of some good contributors. I would enjoy your presense on my sites. Please contact me privately so I can chat with you away from wikipedia.
Thanks,

Hi, just wanted to say thanks for your feedback at Peer Review. It sounds from what you're saying that the remaining quotation mark and inline reference issues are more or less minor, so I won't sweat those details much. I hope you enjoyed the article, I think it's pretty good. And I can respect that you even have a position on the appropriate placement of commas w/r/t quotation marks, even if it differs from my own. :) Kaisershatner 12:59, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

thanks for previously removing the vandalism from the UM page. The criticism section has been repeatedly deleted for maybe a dozen times now, and we have been having to just keep putting it back up. Finally, someone prtotected it- but with the vandalsim up (and the criticism down). If you could add your input on the discussion section it would be helpful. Thanks, jcdpi
Should we split out the transformer welding power supplies and the inverter supplies, so it will have three sections:
Transformer power supplies Motor-generator supplies Inverter supplies
I should also be able to get some decent photos of the inside of a transformer supply showing the sliding-core arrangement that varies the inductive coupling between the primary and secondary, and a photo or three (shot through a microscope) that shows the surface etching in TIG welding.
(I haven't figured out how to put up photos; any suggestions?)
Dr. Crash 16:28, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
but I'm not truly happy with the text; it needs a little work.
On the good side, I do have some decent photos (taken by holding my digicam up to a microscope eyepiece) of aluminium TIG welds, showing accentuated etch from the AC.
Do they belong on Wikipedia? If so, where would you recommend?

Hey Spang, if you have some time on your hands, I wonder if you could offer some help. Although my Spanish is (very) rusty, I'm attempting my first major translation; both the full Spanish version and my English one are now at User:Dmcdevit/Workshop. I wonder if you could look over it. The major problems I have are:
Help, with those specifically, or anything else there, is greatly appreciated. (You can edit it, by the way.) I want to move it to article space soon! Dmcdevit·t 00:30, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for your useful comments on the Sheffield article. I feel that the process of being a featured article candidate has greatly improved the article. Thanks again, JeremyA 17:46, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Congrats to your school on the Orange Bowl. If you have any interest in football, hopefully you saw the game. Anyway, I created an article on Paul Posluszny, the team's current star, and thought you might want to take a look. Harro5 07:43, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for taking a look at the MSU article's Featured Article candidate page. I fixed the footnote problem and fiddled with the pictures a bit. I also took a whack at the PSU article, organizing the section headers in the same way as the U-M/MSU articles. It has a long way to go, but as I said on the MSU FAC page, it's better than the MSU page was a month ago. Lovelac7 16:20, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback on my FPC. I withdrew the nomination because it obviously wasn't going to pass, but I thought I'd ask you about one of your comments. What are you referring to when you say "purple CA"? Someone else mentioned purple near the top of the picture as well, but I'm not seeing it. That might be because I don't know what "CA" means. Any suggestions on how to avoid it (whatever 'it' is) in future shots? Oh, and there's no reason to be sorry; I like the picture enough to be able to still like it even after finding out that no one else does =). I thought people might have a problem with the overexposure of the sky, but that's part of the reason I like it. Again, thanks for the input! --Spangineeres (háblame) 01:37, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your comment. I've filled out the history section, and I'd welcome your feedback. — Johantheghost 14:12, 7 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi Spangineer, as far as I can tell you are the only admin in WP:Mexico. Could you please move Reyes Taméz Guerra back to Reyes Tamez (or at least send it to Reyes Tamez Guerra)? The title is misspelled.
Thanks, Ruiz 02:37, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Hi Nathaniel,
I have replied to your feature article comment on the EE article. I really would like to see electrical engineering's nomination succeed. So please keep in touch and hopefully we can resolve your issues with the article.
Cheers,

Hi Nathaniel,
Thanks for your edits, I didn't really know how to approach the formatting. I have added a reference for the portion of the article you requested it for. If you desire more references, just say so. The sub disciplines can be referenced by refering to the leading textbooks in each of the areas and, if you desire, I can provide these references in a few hours time. I have been trying to remove the second lead picture which I feel clutters the article but have been met by resistance from another editor. If you have any opinion on this (for or against), your viewpoint would be most welcomed. Otherwise thanks again for your work and comments.

Hola Spangineer, I'm sure admins welcome everyone, but I wanted to personally thank you for my welcome message to Wikipedia that you left me last June and I just now read on my talk page ;) I really appreciate it and I hope to be of service to the WikiCommunity. --TwilaStar 03:22, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the interest! I would have absolutely no problem if you shifted the inline citations to after the punctuation (.[1] not [1].). I hope you'll vote your support for Cheers in it's FAC after that! :) Staxringold 17:46, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I am very, very late for this. Almost embarassingly late. Nonetheless, I did want to thank you for your vote of support for Tooth development as a Featured Article. Your comments helped us improve the article, and I think it is now a great source on the topic. Thank you once again! - Dozenist talk 20:56, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Spangineer,
Thanks so very much for supporting the recent FAC of Cheers. It was successful and Cheers has been promoted! I'm looking forward to hopefully getting Cheers on the front page. In the mean time, please accept this Beer as a token of my gratitude.
Cheers! Staxringold 12:00, 30 January 2006 (UTC) (UTC)Hey, thanks for the minor fixes! Deckiller 21:08, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Congrats on getting GTAW featured! I enjoyed reading the article and learning something I probably never would have in any other circumstance. Honestly, if I hadn't been compulsively voting on featured article candidates out of the sheer fun of "having a say in something," I would not have chosen to read this article, which would be a mistake. Fourth featured article, I'm jealous! I would like to have one of my own sometime, but I really haven't found the article I want work on yet (though Astrometry is pretty cool). Best of luck on your next one! - JustinWick 08:29, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
