• Delete The effect is real but this is not the right description for it - the key thing about a teddy bear is that it is a comfort, like a security blanket. I've used the phrase "cardboard cutout" in the context of IT but think that's my own coinage. The term silent analyst is used in the context of psychoanalysis.
