The result of the discussion was: rename, without prejudice to a broader nominating to rename all of the subcategories to the non-hyphenated version. Or, users could try to get the article changed back. Good Ol’factory (talk) 02:14, 29 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nominator's rationale: Bring it in line with all its sub-categories Rathfelder (talk) 22:44, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: Korolyov (inhabited locality) is a disambiguation page, the name of the actual article is Korolyov, Moscow Oblast. Geregen2 (talk) 13:18, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nominator's rationale: "Episcopalian" is a term that refers to a member of number of Anglican churches in the world that (for various historical reasons) have the word "Episcopal" in their name. (These churches include: Episcopal Church (United States), Scottish Episcopal Church, Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil, Episcopal Church of Cuba, Episcopal Church of Cuba, Episcopal Church in the Philippines, Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church, Province of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan.) The fact that the churches' names share the word "Episcopal" does not denote any particular ties between them other than their ties through the Anglican Communion and the Anglican tradition and so merely sharing a name seems to be no sound basis for categorisation. I cannot, for example, imagine that someone might want a list of Anglican feminists who are also members of churches that share a similar name. Graham (talk) 06:15, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it's necessary to rename to "Anglicans and Episcopalians" as there isn't any doubt that Episcopalians are Anglicans. Similarly, it's not called the Anglican and Episcopalian Communion. Graham (talk) 18:07, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal 1
  • Propose merging:
Proposal 2
  • Propose renaming:
  • Category:Wholesalers established in 1820 to Category:Trading companies established in 1820
  • Propose merging:
Nominator's rationale: WP:NARROWCATs that will never be sufficiently populated. PanchoS (talk) 03:05, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Merge as suggested — I created these and do not really agree that they "will never be sufficiently populated", but I don't oppose the suggested merger as it simplifies the overall category structure. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:43, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Ceyockey: While we will most probably revisit all the other subcategories of Category:Companies by year of estblishment, at least in earlier centuries, a slightly less radical target would be Category:Trading companies established in 1820 etc, which would include both retail and wholesale. How about that? I'm including it as Proposal 2. --PanchoS (talk) 08:23, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Propose Deleting Category:Siblings of Presidents of the United States
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:NONDEFINING
The US has no formal title or informal cultural role for brothers and sisters of Presidents like we do for First Ladies. Now many of these people are defined by being a relative of some sort with the President which is why all 50 articles are also under their specific family category in the Category:First Families of the United States tree. For instance, Billy Carter is under Category:Carter family. But, I don't think Billy Carter would have been any more or less of a national embarrassment if he was an uncle or a first cousin instead of a brother so double categorizing him as a sibling of some president isn't defining. - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:08, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Propose Upmerging Category:Orders, decorations, and medals of South Carolina to all parents
  • Propose Deleting Category:Order of the Palmetto
  • Propose Deleting Category:Recipients of the Order of the Palmetto
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:V and WP:OCAWARD (WP:NONDEFINING)
The Order of the Palmetto is a state government award of South Carolina, although it has the feel of a small town mayor's key to the city. A local magazine described it best: "Past recipients have included singer James Brown, author Pat Conroy, tap dancer Clayton 'Peg Leg' Bates, Civil Rights activist Septima Clark, and many others including past governors." (source). That news story was about the governor giving the award to the owners of a Lexus dealership, which is apparently something that happens in South Carolina. At least 3,500 people have received the award, but it's impossible to verify all recipients because there is no complete list (source). - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:29, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Propose Deleting Category:Canadian Mining Hall of Fame
Nominator's rationale: Per WP:OCAWARD (WP:NONDEFINING)
The Canadian Mining Hall of Fame consists of plaques with the 100+ winners at the University of Toronto and a small exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum. It's hard to see how people who died in 1916, in 1922 and in 1957 are defined by an award created in 1998. Even for people who lived to see it, the award receives only a passing reference in the articles. Without exception, all the people in this category are already under Category:Canadian miners, Category:Canadian mining engineers, Category:Canadian mining businesspeople, Category:Canadian geologists, Category:Canadian prospectors or Category:Canadian metallurgists and the list of winners is located here. - RevelationDirect (talk) 01:02, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
