  • Yes - I think so. See Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church where it is written "However, the term "Uniate" became a term of abuse in writings by Orthodox authors, and fell of out favour among Catholics themselves. The people in this church were referred to by the Catholic hierarchy primarily as Graeci catholici (Greek Catholics) because they used the "Greek" or Byzantine Rite, as well as more specifically Rutheni catholici (Ruthenian Catholics).". Reply that's a tough one to answer. You have the Greek Catholic Eparchy of Mukachevo which is in present-day Ukraine but was never part of the Commonwealth. On the other hand, while it is Eastern Catholic, was it ever part of the Ruthenian Uniate Church? There's also the Ruthenian Catholic Archeparchy of Smolensk which for most of its existence was in the Tsardom of Russia.
