Reason: This is a formal attempt to step back from bullying and argument. I can do nothing about the fact that others have made Tenmei into a kind of "red flag" -- see here; but I can move sideways. The new name wards off something bad; and it looks towards a prolonged period of peaceful work. Enkyō (延慶) is a Japanese era name (年号,, nengō,, lit. "year name") for the period from October 1308 through April 1311. It means "becoming prolonged." The process of changing username brings an explicit focus to the difficulty of meaningful change. Gandhi recognized that "fear has its use"; but it is not good for me nor for our Wikipedia project. I fear that the name Tenmei is a magnet which attracts the wrong sort of attention. This is a strategic withdrawal from conflict and problems which don't need to be problems. In 2008, a leading voice in WikiProjectJapan advised "In order to accomplish anything here, you're going to have to learn to work with people who may not be immediately or apparently amiable, or who may be outright caustic in all their dealings with everyone." In this, I bend like a reed in a way that is specific and plain. Tenmei (talk) 17:55, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
