The (iconic) album cover of The Dark Side of the Moon may be still copyrighted in the United Kingdom and ineligible for transfer to Commons (per DR discussion), but something intrigued me, especially from the previous FFD nomination. The album cover was published in the US without copyright notice, and the US and UK releases were simultaneous. Even URAA doesn't recover US copyright of foreign works that were released in the US within 30 days after first publication (elsewhere/overseas). If everything is fully true, then the album cover should be tagged as ((PD-USonly)) rather than non-free. George Ho (talk) 18:37, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can't make up my mind on the signatures made in this photo. Typical signatures themselves are ineligible for US copyright (per c:COM:SIG US) but are still copyrighted in the UK (per c:COM:SIG UK). Also, the background of the photo is not complex enough for copyright: it's just some document resembling a line (notebook) paper or something like that. However, the signatures made by the late British criminal John Martin Scripps are forgeries, yet I don't see how such forged signatures are artistic enough for copyright protection.

This image is ineligible for transfer to Commons per UK laws, but we can determine whether this image is either free in the US or absolutely non-free. If free, then tag it with ((PD-ineligible-USonly)). If non-free, then we must determine whether it's contextually significant to this person in question. If it fails the criterion, then the image must be deleted. George Ho (talk) 18:48, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

i think its contextually significant to this person in question, as the trial judge highlighted it as the reason for dismissing John Martin Scripps claim of being in a daze after the murders, as he was clear headed enough to practice forging signatures in a clear style of writing (and gluing his photo into their passports too). Regarding copyright, it could be argued that it is the forgery of someone else's signature, therefore it is infact no ones signature (doesnt belong to the writer or the person he is imitating) WorldTravleerAndPhotoTaker (talk) 07:27, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete yet another unnecessary unfree file from WTAPT. Reading too much into this. Dronebogus (talk) 09:58, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
