2015 Art+Feminism+Tacos Wikipedia Edit-a-thon Date: Saturday, June 13, 2015 Time: 11:00 am - 6:00 pm EDT Address: The Oracle Club, 10-41 47th Ave, Long Island City, New York 11101
Wikimedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. While the reasons for the gender gap are up for debate, the practical effect of this disparity is not: content is skewed by the lack of female participation. This represents an alarming absence in an increasingly important repository of shared knowledge.
Let’s change that! Join us at the Art+Feminism+Tacos Wikipedia Edit-a-thon 2015 at the Oracle Club in Long Island City on Saturday, June 13th, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for an all-day communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism. Bring your laptop, power cord, and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. Women, non-gender binary, and all allies welcomed.
Event informationThe Edit-a-thon will be held at the Oracle Club, 10-41 47th Ave, Long Island City, on Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm EST. The event will include training for the beginner Wikipedian, ongoing Wikipedia support, reference materials, and tacos and margaritas.
